H/C vette beat by H/C z28

Whooped a H/C LS1 C5 vette at the track.
Ligenfelter stg2 heads - 224 Cam - 2800 stall and
weighd more than 100 Lbs less.

Against H/C LS1 98 z28
5.3 ported Heads - 221 cam - 3500 stall

Fairly equal match.
Mildly pleased - times still suck.

Vette 12.88 @ 111 2.10 -60ft.
Z-28 12.44 @ 114 2.17 -60ft. Beat me off the tree just a bit.

Re: H/C vette beat by H/C z28

aren't those cams a little small for the ls1s?
also, you somewhere with some major altitude or what?
i know a cam only (boltons too) can go like 11s
granted that's probably a big cam but still...
just wondering how those times are like that with the mods done (besides having 2.1x 60 fts.)
i can't say anything though, i probably wouldnt do any better

What in the world is an "H/C" LS1? Does that mean helium charged?

Yes the times do suck. But What can you do.
I could become a better drive that would probably help.

Neither car was a drag car. No skinnies or slicks.
Full weight, 17 & 18'' wheels all around.
No suspension upgrades. Worn out Drag Radials.
It doesnt help the times or traps if you have to ease into throttle.

Too many variables to compare one car to the next. Especially
in different regions. Different Altitude, DA, Suspension, Weight,
Traction, Track Conditions, ect......Still tough to not compare.

oh well.

yea i see what you're saying
it's tough to get some good times with worn out tires, etc.

Nice kill, someday I would like to see the F-body given full credit for the power it has. I have seen several stock LS1 F-body's running better times at the track than most Vettes.

Quite a solid spanking, and quite surprising given that your cars seemed to be evenly matched. The low mph for the C5 is what surpises me the most. **** kill.
