sorry guys, this is one of those "who should win" posts... i have not raced the guy, and won't be able to until spring when the car comes out of storage... here's the scoop he has a n/a 2002 saleen with a "pulley kit" (guessing underdrive), cat-back system, and a "chip", now he says to me last night "yea' it's putting down 444hp"... i guess psychological hp = real hp to this guy... anywho, i don't call b.s. him on his 290hp + 10hp exhaust + 25 or 30 hp chip + 10hp pulleys= 444hp (this 444hp is what saleen puts the top of the line extreem s/c model @, but maybe he plans to put the s/c on)...

his car is the ragtop wt is roughly 3600lbs, mine is 3300lbs(currently no wt. reduction)...

here is the current mods i have on the car:
ported 2nd gen mani.
ported O2
ported big 16g
3" turbo back w/o a cat.
550 injectors
no counter bal shafts
magnus intake
crower stage 3 (almost same as hks 272's)
ams front mount i/c
pro-m mas air
23psi
only run 100 oct. (summer only car)

really i'm thinking what i have now should be enough, but in the spring i will have a 4g64 transplant pushed out to a 2.6L with 9:1 pistons, and a very ported 1st gen head... and the dinky big 16 will be replaced with a 60 or 70trim garrot... i also will remove the 4ws, air-con, power steering, and what ever else i can delete... lastly the wife said, "you can't race him for $"... gears started turning in my head (hummmm title race isn't for cash...)

You sure this Saleen is NA? Even if it does have the Saleen blower, he isn't anywhere near 444hp.

I predict he's going to run 13.3 - 13.5.

Meanwhile, you're doing so much to the GVR4 that I can't come close to predicting the outcome. You had enough in its' curent form to leave him behind easily.

My "modern replacement of the GVR4" will head down the mega-mod path as soon as parts become available. At least a FP Green plus all the supporting goodies, with the goal to look & sound stock and run 11s doing it

i didn't have the heart to call the guys "b.s." on his claims, guess in the spring he'll be doing one of these when the shutter box bounces the rpms to 4.5k (e-prom)...

i told him my mods now and future plans and he just had one of those "yea' right ricer boy" looks on his face (i look like i'm in my early 20's, but i'm 33)... i don't think he understands what my car is...

I have a friend that had a 99 N/A saleen with long tubes, x-pipe and cold air, that would only run a 14.2 best at 99 mph. Youll smoke it.

Just for clarification...what do you drive?
If I missed it in your post then please forgive.

Natural Aspirated 99-04 Saleens around here turn (on avg) 13.6-14.0 times.
I dont think he would be crazy enough to run title for title with that new of a car. Although I have seen some stupid ones in my time.

Run him and let us know.

just to give you more support, my friend with an srt-4 that runs 12.9@108 beat a brand new supercharged saleen, sucks to be a SOHC, glorified GT lol
