gsr turbo honda hatchback?

I have a 1994 camaro lt1 with longtubes ,intake, a cutout and a freshly rebuilt trans. One of my import friends called me out with his gsr turbo hatch and thats all the info i know about it.He ran a 9 flat in the 1/8th and said he was spinning alot.Im just curious as to how I would run against him.I know my car is no slouch, but I dont know anything about imports. Please let me know what you all think would happen.Btw he has three videos on youtube of him racing a m3 bmw, just type in hatch vs m3 and they should show up,thats the only thing i have to go by.

Ever had your car to the track before? What is your 1/8 ET/MPH look like? That should give you an idea of the outcome.

he will do the same thing to you that he did to that m3

your only chance is from a dig and a short race

It'd be close in the 1/8th because he has no traction. After that, well, you'll need some work.

I don't know. I watched the video and i'm not sure that was an M3. Not to mention, it is definitely an older 3 series.

Yeah, that video showed us nothing. That was an older BMW. There would have been a lot of factors that went into that race. Although it looks as though the hatch was the only one trying to race in a couple of those runs.

Yeah thats what I was thinking too.Do any of you all by any chance have 1/8 th mile time slips with similar mods as me just to get an idea of what my car would do in the 1/8th?

A rough calculation for 1/8th to 1/4 times is take the 1/8th ET and multiply it by 1.55. eg. 9.000 x 1.55 = 13.950

That's the thing about 1/8th mile. The ET is extremely dependent on traction. If we knew the trap speed of the GSR we'd know what kind of power he's actually making.

My Subaru family sedan ran a 8.90 its very first time out. However, the guy may be trapping 10+ mph higher than my 79 mph so I would have gotten roasted by the end of the 1/4. Notice all that's in the past tense -- my current setup is more of a mid-low 7 sec run

Depending on tires, traction, and experience, I'd say you'd run anywhere between 8.70 and 9.1. It's just a crapshoot because we don't know if your 60ft would be closer to 1.80 or 2.20.

To the OP: Are you going to the same 1/8 mile track? If so, don't botch the launch and you should be okay. If he had hooked, there was a chance that he would have bogged since it is a turbo GSR. Depending on the turbo, it may take some rpms before the boost builds. If it hooks and holds the rpms below that boost level, it will take a bit for the car to get going.
