grudge match at the 1/8th

last night ( thursday) i went to my local 1/8th mile track for the "grudge night" i had four races
i took my 98 Z , a4, all new installed parts......full exhaust, nitto dr's, 12 bolt rear end with 373's, new rebuilt tranny with shift kit, k&n intake, diablo chip. and a few others

on the grudge match night you pick your own races, and everyone bets.
1st race was against a 68-70 chevelle ss 396, 4 speed, on street tires
i ran a 8.4 he ran a 9.2= $100 bucks
2nd race was against a 02 sti, with exhaust downpipe, BOV
i ran a 8.6 he ran a 8.99=$100 bucks
3rd race was a 04 cobra, cat back
i ran my fastest time of a 8.2 he ran a 8.4=$100 bucks
4th race was against a 2000 corette C5 6 speed ( he's lucky i didn't have mine out) with a catback
he ran a 8.25 I ran a 8.39= negative 100 bucks
all in all i made out ok and I had my a/c on the entire time! think my car ran ok, i have a zex nitrous kit laying on my kitchen floor waiting to be put on

That sounds like a blast. I wish our track did something like that. I'd love to find some suckers, er, worthy opponents

I'm shooting for 7.50s in a car that looks like it'll run in the 10s at best. It ran 8.90s stock. I wouldn't mind spraying my truck but GA outlawed nitrous setups on the street a couple of years ago (thinking it'd stop street racing Hondas), and if I spent the cash I'd want it available all the time.
