Got beat by a lightning...

I was takin a friend to work, came to a stoplight and a new style white lightning rolls up next to me. Don't think much of it. light turns green and he floors it with no warning. I jumped on it shortly after, my hood at his rear bumper. We stayed even til about 60 when traffic made me slow down. Would have been nice if he had revved so I could turn off the ac and put it in drive and launch. Oh well. Those things pull damn hard tho, easily as fast as my car.

Last time I checked they're RWD, and I'm 99% sure they are.

When I was virtually stock (cheap cat-back, no cat, and a drop in K&N filter), I ran one from a 80-110 roll on the highway late at night and I crept away from them. They're turd *** bricks up top considering I walked away from him with 100 less horsepower.

All trucks are like that. at 100+ the aerodynamics are so bad theres no point in trying..

lightnings are amazing....for $1000 in mods you can have a low 12 second PICKUP TRUCK that weighs well over 2 tons.....

exactly!

my car can touch on a low 12 with no nitrous but it took a lot more than 1000 bucks to get it there...

Yeah, I ran a new one at the track last year, he went 13.8@97mph to my 14.0. I was shocked, it was my first encounter with one. They are quick for a truck!

If you can jump them out of the hole and stay in front till about 60 or so aerodynamics is in your favor.
Most of the ones around here won,t race top end cause they know they have flying bricks.

yeah. If I would have launched I think I could have stayed ahead. He kinda sucker punched me tho. Oh well, they're still fast as hell.

I think the reason he beat you was because he got the head start. The samething happened to me with a F-150 Harley Davidson truck and I have another post about it, but basically if he got the head start, he will win. But if both of you slammed the gas pedal at the sametime, you would have won.

Exactly with little money you make lightnings fly like the wind in around 12's. Thats with pulleys, exhaust, chip and intake and shift kit if you really need it. It doesn't take much to make a fast *** lightning.

2003 F-150
-Dual Exhaust Flowmasters
-K&N Filter
-5spd

No more mods cause saving for Black Lightning

Does chevy have an equivalent to the ford lightning?
