Well i was feeling pretty decent about my car and all after fixing a few minor problems i had, and went for a little cruise after hitting up sonic with some friends. So my friend and i are cruising along when we see a M3 (01-02...def not a brand new one) so i follow along and wait for traffic to clear, when it did i pulled up beside him at about 60 and dropped it into 4th, and goosed it a little, then he fell back a little and just when i was about to give up i saw him make his move so i dropped it into third and we were off. Now let me tell you i knew it was going to be good, being it was a M3 from a roll and all, but it was so damn even it was rediculous, in third i pulled a hair on him and in 5th he was pulling a little on me, but the entire time my nose was at his door (where it started when i went wot) then we exchanged acknowledgements and went our seperate ways, only for me to realize i blew a header gasket. Once i got back to my friends place this girl we know who drives a lightning started talking smack, about her pulley and chip, granted it will be a close one with her too, but i am not worried i always seem to do better on the street, and since she chickened out that night, i have 2 more weeks to do something else to insure victory, because she went TDY to vegas.

01-02-03 and 04 M3s all look the same..

I'd worry about the lightning. Supposedly a pulley on those does like 20 horse, plus a chip could be bad for you

 

i know it wasn't a new one because if it had 390hp then i would have been seeing tail lights. And yes the lighting girl is pretty damn hot, i figure from a roll she would prob walk me but her traction woes may be just enough for me to pull what i need from a stop.

 

No M3 has 390hp. All US M3s got 333hp inline six. I have a 2002 M3 and it is identical to 2003 and 2004 models.

You can hang with a M3 from a dead stop. But they are very potent at high speeds.

 

oh i thought i read somewhere that the 03's had 390.......but i am wrong, that happens every now and agian, just don't go telling everyone about it
