First kill on the Yamaha..

The first day I bought it..I got a kill...mwuahahaha...

I was sitting at a light on this long stretch of paved road..and this 17-19 year old pulls up in his Civic with his music blasting revving his engine...(1000 RPM's max probly j/k)...and as we are waiting for this long *** light to turn he cranks his system all the way then back down, flashes his lights, and revvs again..as soon as the light is green the bastard punches his little rice burner into the 10 MPH range before shifting (j/k again )...I wont stand letting a car with 20 less HP than my bike (he obviously had no engine mods) beat me..so of course me being my dumb self rams the throttle and does a burnout...but quickly jumps off of the "line"..I move up on the kid like im in a Diablo...I fly past him going about 45 and he is still hassling to catch up..and I decide to punch the gas a little more into about 80 or 90 by now just to let him know I own him...I let off at 100 so I can stop at the next light (around 1/2 a mile away)..and as we pull up to the other light he just stares at me actingl ike my bike should only been going 20 or something...then we just pull away from the light as he turns..

OWNED!

all those small bikes can be taken by a nice car but you get up in the 750+ range and you need some serious stuff done to your car to come close to them

I just moved up to Massachusetts from North Carolina. I was in the military for ten years and after it was all over I had decided to move home. I was out cruising around on my bike the other night and decided to go over to were all the people use to street race. I was shocked that it is still in full swing over there. Anyway, I only went there to watch because I know that the street bike vs car thing is stupid. Needless to say not many of the cars thought so, I humored a couple of them, but didn't even bother giving them full throttle, no need to. After a while it got boring so I just let them take off and look like asses. If there was a car with big HP that wanted to run I would give it a go, but not the every day car, it is just pointless. I love watching you guys race each other though, I can feel the adrenaline pump and I am not even in the car, just on the side line.

nice kill but I think you wasted your gas. But I can understand you being all pumped up cause it's your new toy! LOL

Seriously, a fellow racer, 22 years old, lost his life this past weekend when he plowed into the side of a minivan.

LETS BE SAFE OUT THERE!

a 600 sportbike will run mid 11's easy. They only get faster from there.

really ???? there's a big difference between running mid 11s easy and an occasional 11 second run.

I have friends that have or had bikes that were insanely fast and they say stuff like, my bike runs low 10s or my bike can dip into the 9s. Then I asked them, what times have you riden the bike to? and the aswers are quite different from what they first bragged about !!!!! You got to be able to tame those little beasts !!!!

haha All of my friends have sportbikes and they all take them to the track too. slowest one ran a 12.3. That's the SLOWEST. How many LT-1's or any car go faster than that. Not a whole lot. My other friend runs a 10.85 almost everytime, it will also go about 170mph. (suzuki TL1000R)

The other day i just watched like 5 races of an 03 Cobra getting smoked by a honda F4i which is one of the slowest 600's. They even kicked them down from 60 or 70 and from a stop. You need an insanely fast car to beat a sportbike.

So far my best time is a 9.73@142 MPG. My goal is to break 9.5.

If I have a car beat me or come close on the street, I am going to follow him because I want to check out a car like that. I am not turning this into a "my bike can beat anything out there", I am just saying that I would really truelly like to be able to admire and see a car that can, that is drive on the street.
