Well, i finally got ahold of a SRT-4! That was the #1 car on my list since last summer. Ill try and keep it short. Driving home down a main road from a buddys house, pull up to the intersection where in a different threat the idiot wrecked his neon raceing me. Waiting at the light(with grandma in front of me)i notice a old 5.0 and a SRT-4 squared up. When the light turned green they took off! This was the first time ive ever seen a street race that i wasint involved in so i was pretty excited, not to mention it was an SRT-4 which ive been dieing to race. So im waiting and waiting for grandma to turn right and when she finally turned i was off. I had to run through a light to catch them(not a major light at all) and then i watched them turn into the mall parking lot where i followed. They were both standing outside their cars talking when i pulled up and asked if i could have next. So after bsing for a minute we head back down the main road to get on the highway. We didnt even make it that far before we got into it. After playing around when he was behind me he flew up next to me and we went from about a 25 mph roll, suprisingly i pulled right away and by the time i got into 3rd i could of crossed in front of him. So we end up catching the next light, i really didnt want to race from a dead stop, seeing as i have the stock clutch and rear end on street tires, but whatever. So the light turns green and i granny the clutch until im going about 10mph where my front end was lined up with his back door and slam it. 3rd gear came around and i look over to see his headlights.

So we pull into a parking lot and bs some more. He has only had the car for 2 days and it only had 350 miles on it. The stang had heads/cam(some other crap) and the guy told me it just needs a new maf(he claims he had a stock one)and intake to run 12's. Sorry for the novel, just an exciting night!

Kinda thought it was funny he said he has me in first and second. If i knew how to launch with a manual and nothing broke he would of been 2ez.

 

How did the 5.0 do against you and the SRT-4?

 

The SRT-4 beat the mustang. He followed us and tryed to keep up but he said he would let us get the ticket.

Those gears are eating away at your clutch BAD I bet.

If the pony had heads/cam it should have had NP holding its own. Must have had a Terrible driver.

 

Yeah, a heads cam 5.0 should do well against an SRT-4.

You were probably better off with the automatic and 2.73 gears than the T-56 and 2.73 gears. The auto's first gear is 3.06 and the T-56s is 2.66. Also, the auto has a torque converter for more power out of the hole. You will be fine after you do a gear swap, though. Maybe go for a 12 bolt while your at it.

 

Good kills - little disappointed with the H/C 'stang tho I used to have 6 of those cars, still like em hehe.

Where abouts in Cleveland are you? I work in Highland Hills/Beechwood area

 

Well, the mustang did well against the SRT but still lost. So when i was raceing the SRT the guy stayed behind and just gave up. The area is pretty populated with police and ive allready gotten a street raceing ticket when i was 17 so i understand how the guy felt. Im sure he knew how to drive, he was probably in his mid 40's and said he has been raceing for years so..

As for the gears, ya they suck but i just sunk over 5k in my car so im pretty broke now. Birthday is the first of march and income tax time is close so im guessing in a month of so ill probably go with 4:10's? I have good traction as it is now, i cant imagine with thoes gears.. no traction dosint help much when your raceing.

DarkHorse - I live in Parma about 10 minutes from cleveland. Right across the street from parmatown mall. Hope ya plan on getting together this summer for some f-bod meets!

 

Cool - i'm familiar with Parma somewhat. We hang at D42 about 3 times a week and on Tusc in Canton quite a bit too. We'll probably meet up sometime at D42!

 

Where in parma do you live? I used to live at the regency towers, then we moved to N. Royalton and now we live in streetsboro. Maybe I've sen you around. The fiance's folks live on W 54th 2 houses down from the high school.

 

Jeff, your right down the road from Akron. You go to Summit at all? Heard from Ryan?

 

Haven't been to Summit in a while, I usually go to Chapel Hill.

I havn't heard from Ryan since he moved. He's not onlin hardly at all, but seeing as how he's in Atlanta, I'm sure he's got better things to be doing.

My Z is green w/ a tan interior and a Borla exhaust. I used to hang out at the East Coast Custard up on Pearl every now and then.

 

lol east coast! Anytime i drove by their i would allways give it a rev or get on it hopeing someone would pull out and race. Afew summers ago a guy with a green firebird was pulling in their and i gave him a rev when i went by. So he pulled back out and we raced and i ended up getting a street raceing/driving w/o lights(i tryed to run from the bastard)no turn signal ect... Anyways, usually alot of ricers and all show no go cars up their. You need a new hangout.
