Talking Envoy takes out V6 Camaro...LOL

Well as some of you guys know, I am driving my 2002 V6 Envoy around town since my Z got totaled and I still havent got all my money from insurance, so i dont have my LS1 yet:mad:. I work with 3 other F-body guys and one of them is a 95 V6. Well, I ended up closing the store with the guy with the V6 last night. After leaving the parking lot we ended up next to eachother on an empty road, so he decided to start messing with me since I dont have my car anymore and he thought it was funny. So finally, the second time he jumped at me I decided to jump back. We took off at about 30mph. We stayed neck and neck until about 50 and then I started to pull, not sure what mph I let off at but I had 3-4 cars on him. Well, right after we let off we hit a red light and I thought after being embarrassed by an Envoy he would give up, but I was wrong. He still kept messing with me, so when the light turned green I launched at 3,000 rpms and instantly pulled 2 cars on him. We stayed like that until about 40-50 and once again I ended up pulling him by about 4 cars by the time I let off. I just found it funny that he was trying to be smart and make fun of me cause I dont have my car anymore, and he thought he would actually have a chance now to beat me. So, I figured I would share this funny race with you guys:) . I bet this is the last time he messes with an Envoy, lmao.

Well, he did have the 160 HP engine. You've probably got somewhere near 300. He should have thought about what he was doing. Yeah, those of us who own V6s need to learn that we're driving regular cars pretty much.

Yea if it was a 3.4 then I can believe it. But not if it was a 3.8 I don't. Because my friend has a 3.8 and we have beat v8 mustangs turbo eclipses and "b16 hatchbacks"

Those Envoy/Trailblazers come with 275 hp/tq 4.2 V6's, I mean thats nearly as much as our cars. Now I understand 275 in a Z and 275 in a Envoy is very different, but I dont think its all that impossible.

Hell the optional V8's are 290hp 325 tq engines.

Not to mention they have nice rear gearing, 3.42/3.73/4.10 Not bad for an SUV.

I know the experience all too well. When I had a 3.4 I never raced anything. The thought of getting owned by SUVs and big trucks didn't set well with me .

Now that I got the Z it's a different story .

Had to be a 3.4 right? I know the Envoys come with 275hp, but how much TQ? I could see you beating a 3.4 not a 3.8.

It was a 95 V6, and I am not sure on the Envoys torque either. It's my moms car so I dont know to much about it.

I didn't know people actually buy Envoy's with 5 speeds. You should have put it in 4wd and dumped it at 6K

The 95's I believe were 3.4's then 3.8's later in the year.

They make manual Envoy's Must be request only or something, they dont even mention it in the vehicle brochure. Will it let you rev past 4100rpms in neutral? I can hold my moms envoy to floor in neutral all day and it will just sit at 4100rpms (it shifts at over 6) Also, maybe its just the automatics, but I think my moms envoy is severely torque limited... When Im flooring it, its like I can instinctively tell its not giving it it's all.

Oh, and I beat a newer GT auto at a light with my moms old trailblazer which had a 4.10

95s had 3.4Ls and some 3.8Ls(they are semi rare)

not too hrd to believe stock they are mid to high 16s...

I had one of the faster n/a ones around, and it was a mid 15 second car.... Probably what your truck is... There are some turbo ones out there that woudl romp your truck a new a$$hole though

Good race, tell the kid to get to the v6 websites and get some mods!
