Endless Summer Cruisin'

Hey guys... I just returned from Ocean City, MD's Endless Summer Cruisin' weekend. Overall it was a great time with perfect weather to cruise all weekend long. I was pretty tame most of the weekend... there's not a ton of room to play when there's all those cars around, but I managed to find me a cobra at about 2 in the morning coming out onto the main road, where there were no cars. I hesitated at first, b/c he was a '99+ style, (but not '03), and my clutch has been slipping, and I didn't want to feed his already large ego. But my friend convinced me to play, so from about 40 MPH I pulled up next to him and he revved up really loud.

He definitely had at least exhaust, so I'm gonna just assume that we both only had cat-back, cuz that's all I've got too... So off we go... To my suprise, we are right next to eachother as we get to about 75, then he shifts, but I hold my gear, and keep it going into the red... By 100 MPH I'm up on him by a car length and he slows...

Best race I've ever had... what a freakin' rush... I'm still relatively new to this car... So this was like... the best thing since sliced bread to me....

And the best part... We pull up to a light a couple of miles down the road, and he starts asking me how much stuff I have done... and I tell him catback, that's it... I didn't believe me... He said no way man that's so freakin loud... you've gotta have headers, engine mods, etc. to even come close to my car.

second best part... He couldn't have weighed more than 130 lbs, and his passenger looked like she must have weighed about 90 lbs. I weigh about 260 alone, with my best friend who is possibly 215 easy, and I had the hatch full of all of our luggage, etc., or I coulda probably beat him by even more.

Until this point I didn't have a good car to measure up against, but now I know where I stand in the mustang realm... He gave it everything he had, and told me so... (maybe he was just the ****tiest driver in the world, but he seemed to be doing a good job)... I almost bought a Cobra... but I'm glad I decided to step over into camaroland... best (and by comparison, cheapest) move I've ever made!!!
