Well after finally getting my cars cooling problems solved I headed out this last weekend just to see who was out cruising the local spot, I see some of my friends all parked in front of a corner store so i decided to pull in and see what was up with everyone. when i pulled up I recognized every car except for a 2nd gen eclipse. I got out of my car and started talkng to my buds and asked them whos car it was and they introduce me to the owner. I ask him what year and whats all done to the the 4g63 hes got under the hood.He says its a 97 gsx with a turbonetics t04b turbo ,hks ssq BOV ,downpipe, bigger fuel pump,35mm tial wastgate,greddy front mount,and some other stuff i dont really remember. We had no intentions of racing but it was getting lae andeveryone as leaving so idecide o head out an o does he on theroad bck towards myhouse he comes up and lets off all thatextra boost that t04b turbo is making wich defiantly got my heart going. At about a 20 mph roll I decide what the hell and jump it hoping i wot lose to bad and to my surprise i hear his turbo soo and were off and hes not pulling me but then i hear im dowshift....again and the revs climb and he flies past me with ease. We only wund it up to around 80 but by that time he already had about 6 cars or so it was hard to tell but he was definatly ahead of me. He waved and then truned left off of the street, cool guy and wicked fast car.

 

well i got to encounter one 2 weekends ago, and about the samen thing happened from roll! when we were cruising at 40 he would drop it in 2nd and let the turbo spool up and i could hear it clearly in my window so i would floor it and once my car would go he would let ou tthe clutch and scream by me. hten we would do the same from 50-65 rolls and the outcome was different! from there we would stay side by side. he wasnt stock either. he had a bigger turbo ( dont have any specs for ya) and a couple lil gadgets onthe inside. from a dig was best for me. i would jump 2 cars on him by the end of first gear then another one halfway through 2nd then he would play catch up. by 115 he would be next to me then at that poin ti would start pulling again. then i ran his buddy in a stock 97 gst ( well almost stock blow off valve and intake and exhaust. i would leave him at pretty much any roll we went at. but yeah those cars can be very fast from a roll. i know what speeds to do it a from now on though.

 

He must have a lot of power to beat you from a roll, either that or you do not have many modifications.

GSX = AWD

I know this guy who has a WRX and he won't ever launch it. LOL he just takes off like normal and then floors it, why buy a AWD car if your not going to launch it?!?!

 

Idiot. He loses most of his advantage against other fast rwd cars by not launching it hard.
