Drag strip kill
Drag strip kill
Last weekend I went drag racing to my local track. I have finished building my 1965 Chevy Nova SS and done some shakedown runs.
So it was time for full passes and see what she will do.
I was paired against a ZR1 Corvette which is a 180mph supercar ( I must admit I'd like to own one myself)
So I stage the car after a burnout and I am running on open hedders, sounds the bollocks!
The lights change and I hole shot him bigtime and my Nova hooks up and goes, as I'm getting to the end of the strip I can see the ZR1 catching me like a train. Anyway the finish line comes just in time.
I win 12.97@106 to the ZR1 13.1 @ 109mph.
I chat to the guy afterwards and he tells me he has run 12.6 before. He had paid £19,000($32,680) for his car the year before.
my Nova cost me £7,000 ($12,000) to build
My best time of the day was 12.76 @ 106.44mph
Quite a scalp for a 65 Nova, but I am set up for drag racing!
