well it was interesting night. got woke up at 3:00am. to go pick up my brothers in daytona beach(they got ditched). so the gas station i go to i see one of my old friends, and he has a new car. which is a 2000 grand prix supercharged, but he says he will smoke me cuz he has 12 grand in the internals and pushing 11 psi( he say they are 4psi stock) so i tell he bull****ting and he wont give. so we go to a1a and run twice from red light stops. i hook up great both times and eat him out of the hole and right when i am at the top of first gear about to shift he comes up whining like carzy at my window and jumps ahead, then once i got into 2nd i would regain againand then we would stop. same outcome both times. after that i knew he was bull****ting about 12 g's in the motor, but he still wont admit it. so we pull up in a parking lot and this lil red eclipse pulls in behind us.
this is when it gets fun. he says " i have never seen anyone rip out of the hole like that" i was like thanks. and then he goes on to say that he beat a gto twice last night from a roll. i was like (yeah right) and then he went onto say u wanna run em. hm y not. if u can beat a gto i have no chance. but i wouldnt back down. he say he has 4 g's in the motor and he is about to get started on upgrading the turbo. so we go to desolate road and my brother flags us. and i get a good launch and eat him out of the hole then by 60 i see him coming pretty quickly and by a hunderd he is right by me then about 115 i start to pull away. then we ran em back and i spin like crazy and he beats me by about 2 car lenghts on the way back. so i ask for one more. this i time not a perfect hook but decent and we run side by side all the way. he say he missed 3rd. so we go one more on the way back. this time i spin like crazy again and he beats me again. then on the way home he did a couple of rolls. from 40 and he kills me very very very bad. then we go from 50 and side by side. he only liked to do rolls from 40 though. well thats it. this wednesday i am going to meet him at the track out here and see what happens.
last time i went to this track i ran 14.5 at 95. he said he went a few months ago and ran 14.2 at 99. this time i have a few mods and will hopefully pull better times

i dont know how much money u have, but my payments are 800$ a month so my mods are a lil slow coming. but i did order a cut-out today. i will put it in saturday. this is my 3rd race with the car, and i have had it for almost 2 months.
but yeah that damn dsm was quick, i would get him off the line then watch him play catch up with me. tomorrow night we are going to meet up at the track and see what we both run.

actually let me be more specific, my payments are 413$ a month and my insurance is 397$ a month. not only is my payment 413$, but i actually pay them 800$ a month( cuz i want to get this thing paid off)! so in total i am paying 1200$ a month. in about 6 to 8 months i hope to have this car paid off.
so back to buying mods, they are coming but coming slowly. after this cut-out is in this weekend, i am going to go with 3000 stall.

 

If he has $4,000 in a turbo DSM, i would think he would be running in the 12 second 1/4th mile class at least... which would have put him in front by more then 2 cars on ya. They run 14s boneass stock.

 

Man you must have a ****ty driving record. My insurance is only $120/month and thats with full coverage. Im also 24 years old.

 

I am 18 with an accident on my record and my ins. is about $200 so over $300 seems way too high. Good story. If they both had so much in the motor and you beat or stayed with them, then your car must run pretty strong on the street. Oh and be carefull racing on the street .

 

I used to have a regal GS and well i know that its impossible to spend more than a few grand on a supercharged 3800 unless you get a custom aftercooler or the aftermarket tranny. The cars run high 14's to low 15's stock on 7.5-8psi. You can get it in the high 13's for under $1000. I agree with the others that your insurance is ridiculous. I have a 93 TA and me and my wife drive it with full coverage its $570 a year. With the TA and the buick it was a little under 1200 a year. I'm 22 and we both have clean records. The company is called Wawanesa and they are very reputable. They are a canadian company but i think they cover oregon as well as california. I doubt they will accept you if you have more than one ticket but they are cheap. My wife said that when she worked for advantage rent-a-car they were the fastest to pay for their customer's claims and rentals. i think you can get an online quote at wawanesa.com

 

well first about the supercharged gtp ,i pretty much knew he was bssing my when he said 12 grand. and to the dsm i have never had a problem eatin em up and highly coubt they are low 14 cars. hm my car run 14.5 at the track and they dont have chance. (well last night i ran 14.2)
the dsm had all the gauges and pillar deal goin on, but he said last tiem he went to the track he ran a 14.2 at 99mph. so he has to have done something to it, and he hasnt dont any exhaust work cuz he just ordered full exhuast and he got it put on today! kid seems pretty good for his word, but the 4k i will ask him again, he is russian so his english is a lil off kilter ya know!

and to the kid with the supercharged gtp he is known for being a compulsive liar, but he did say that stock they run 4 psi ( i did believe that part lol!

and to my insurance, i know it is outrageous. i got arrested for dui when i blew a .051 and a .054. ( i thought the legal limit was .08 ha what a scam, .0000001 is under the influence in florida, but they dont tell u that till ur caught!)so that got dropped to careless driving but it is still dui on my record, and i have 1 speeding ticket, i was goin 10 over( woah ) bu thta is it. even with my old toyota p/u it was over 350$ so it is not like they are raping me cuz it is a v-8. and im 23.
