Cultivated Rice Couldn't Keep Up....

What the heck, I'll post one more run I've had with my new daily driver. This is pretty sad, I'm getting more races with this car than my Camaro...

A bunch of my friends and I were off last weekend to watch some racing out of town. Well a buddy of mine with a '89 4dr Civic who had been giving me a hard time ever since I got rid of my Z and got my new ride wanted to run. So we line up with a flag man on a back road and have at it. I immediately pull 2-3 cars out out of the hole. From their it just got worse. By the time I was in high gear, he was prolly 7-8 cars behind me. I run it up to about 100-105 and let out. We pull around and he wants to try it again, this time he wants me to spot him a car and let him move. I agree without hesitation. We line up and we're off. About halfway through 1st I've already caught up to him and am passing him. I run it out to the end of 2nd, and let out as I shift 3rd, him about 5 cars or so behind.

We get back and I don't say a word. Everyone else was giving him crap though. It was kind of funny. He says he wants to try it again, but with his bottle and DRs next time. I told him all he has to do is call...

My ride- bone stock '04 Altima 3.5

His mods- b16 swap, header, cam pullies/gears, cai, full exhaust, custom tuning, 75 shot.

But what he doesn't know is that by the next time we run I should have my Nismo lisence plate brackets installed, so he DEFINATELY won't stand a chance!

Nice kill

4 dr B16 civic is mid to high 15's with the avg driver even a 75 shot would have him MAYBE mid 14's with traction 14.2-3

I think the Altimas are what 14.7-14.9???

It should be closer on the bottle but something tells me the guy in the 4 dr cant drive lol

The best pass I've seen his car go at the track is a 15.2 @ around 95 on the spray. Obviously with the mph, its got a little more ET in it. The problem is that his motor doesn't make any power until like 6k. It's the ever so common bogg or spin problem with most high reving imports that are FWD. I don't know much about those b16/18s, but he tells me he shifts at like 8k+. With peak power from 6-8k+, that can make for a tricky launch in a FWD.

As far as Alty's, the best posted internet ET I've found yet (on Maxima.org) was a 14.2 @ 95 w/ 2.3 60ft. Don't know if that's true or not, but after driving mine for a while I definately wouldn't throw it out as bs. The general consensus for normal ETs seems to be anywhere from 14.3-14.9 @ around 93-95. I'll find out what mine runs first hand as soon as March 1st gets here. I'll definately post results so people on the board can know what to expect if you pull up to one on the street. Just a heads up for you guys. Dyno's I've seen on the net range anywhere from 215-225whp stock.
