CTS-V's are SICK

DISCLAIMER: I am in no way trying to say I ever had a chance against a CTS-V. So don't think that, lol.

I'm coming back from gettin a sandwich and a cup of coffee just now, and I'm at a light and this CTS-V pulls onto the road in front of me. It's sorta dusk now, and I'm not too familiar with what they actually look like (as I've never seen one on the road before) but as soon as I heard the guy floor it I knew what it was, LOL. There's a decent bit of traffic on this road, but the guy kept hittin it and getting up on the guy's *** in front of him. The funny part was that this guy was probably like 50-something.....maybe he was doing this because he saw me, I don't know.......but he kept floorin it and then quickly braking for like the next half mile. We finally came to where I was supposed to turn, but I had noticed that the traffic had like almost immediately dissappated and so I threw it out of the turning lane and gunned it. Well this guy flew out from behind the car in the other lane and took off like a rocket past me. I had given it a little more gas once I noticed his headlights gaining on me, but he was gone before I knew it. It wasn't really a race I guess, because I was ahead of him first, and there was traffic, then he flew by me after weaving out from behind someone.........but I felt it was necessary to post this here because it was a pretty cool experience if you had been there and I wanted to share it with you guys. Oh, and the CTS-V is friggin INSANE.

Think Ive seen one ever...Not a bad looking car just really dont do anything for me. Big, heavy, expensive car w/ a nice engine. For a similar price ill take the z06 w/ the same engine and run rings around a ctsv all day long

I know what you mean, but I was just surprised at how quick it was......I'd never before been next to one like that on the road.

I had the same experience this weekend, but with a SSR. I don't like the looks of those, but when he floored it I definately heard the 400hp and my jaw just dropped. Those exhaust systems are set up so nicely

400hp I thought they only came w/ the 5.3's or something w/ 300 or 350hp?
And I dont believe their fast (not too sure though..)
But I do know one thing, I LOVE the SSR's! My g/f always complains saying "thats not a truck, you can't even do anything with it!". And then I must continue to inform her that, not only is it mainly a status-symbol, but its more for the looks and ride than hauling stuff

Nope, they have the LS2 in them now. It's actually like 390hp, but whatever. I still think they're ugly. I'd take one and just pull the drivetrain out

WHAT? 390 hp in a small-a$$ed truck like that would rock! What a beast man!
How much do they weight btw.. I know it can't be a lot.

Similar price...CTS-V=$55,000; ZO6=$75,000. Where I come from $20,000 is a HUGE difference, but I know where your coming from I'd like to have both.

Re: CTS-V's are SICK

Both the 2004 and the 2005 have the LS-6, not the LS-2.

Yeah, obvoiusly you and I would take the Z06 over the CTS-V. That doesn't mean that the CTS-V is a bad package. There is alot of car there besides the LS6, and that car will stand toe to toe with the world's finest performance luxary cars. GM has a good thing going there.
