Can I Beat a 69 Mach 1

So here goes. I drive a 98 Z-28, M6, T Tops, with intake and Flowmaster exhaust(I know, I know too restrictive. Soon to be SLP Loudmouth). Anyway my girlfriends parents own a 69 Mach 1, candy apple red with a 351 windsor bored 30, 600 cfm holly carb, with a very mild cam, and flowmaster exhaust (40 series) very beautiful car. It has stock gears and the stock 3 speed cruise o matic. They seem so assured they can beat me, and since they are my girlfriends parents I don't want to talk smack. I honestly don't think there's any chance they could take me but I'm just wondering is there any chance that they could beat me. Also if anyone has raced a 69 Mach 1 I'd like to hear the outcome.

Jimmie

You WILL hurt there feelings.

A friend of mine has one of those and it has a Clevland with a decent cam, 10:1, LT's, MSD, 750 holley ect... and the best he could manage with the car was a 13.7 at 103. If you cant get that out of your m6 LS1 then you cant drive.

Thanks man. I'm not the best shifter in the world but I can get the Job done. I never thought that they had a chance they just sounded so confident.

Well actually I don't have a death wish, and I respect them. I love the car, just hate the way they rag EVERYTHING thats not a 69 mach 1. Her dad said one day home one the way from work he raced a 03 Cobra thats right Cobra he said he raped it. Inside my laughter was hysterical. He says a 4.6 is crap and he can take one any day.

Grow some ***** and flat out tell the guy..."look, I really care for your daughter, but enough of this crap about your beating cars that it has no chance against."

I mean what are you going to do if you race him...loose on purpose so not to hurt his feelings?

Well that must not be a very good setup 351C's are pretty killer motors. If its not a 4v car maybe but a 4v has massive heads. They flow about 260-270ish stock on the intake at .600.

after you give him the head start and win, you can also say, "yep started in the rear an finished out in front just like she loves it"

You need to tell him that his rustang get bet your Z when in 3rd gear. That if he had a 03 cobra than yes; he needs a reality check and stop thinking his mustang can even compete against 5.7 motor

No its just a 2v motor. I just think it was a bad combo. It had some torque, thats for sure.

I had a '69 GT fastbck with a 351 and a 4 speed. You should'nt have any problems beating him unless you smoke the tires off the line.

"'69 eh!?!" my favorite year and your daughters favorite position.

(sorry but they cranked up my depakote dosage this week)
