Cammed LT1 vs. Cammed LS1

So I completed my LT install and my roommate wants to race. He drives a Cammed LS1 (TR224, Mac mid lenth headers, 3.5" mufflex exhaust, tubbed (no muffler - yeah it's loud), MTI lid, tuned, ported TB, other bolt ons, 4.10s etc etc) vs me w/ my mods in my sig. I thought what the heck, he always beats me anyway, but I think I'd give him a good race now. So we went out, the 1st time was from a 50 roll, I jumped him a little bit, then he slowly started creeping by me, by 110 he had me by 3/4 car length. Next race: from a stop, he honked, then we went, had him by about a half car at 60, then by 90 it was about even, then he just slowly pulled away, and by about 115 he had me by a car. Not bad for a stock geared stock headed LT1 vs a Geared and Cammed LS1. It definitely took him a lot longer to start pulling me now. So I'm happy w/ the results from the LTs.

I'd say you did REALLY well for your mods. Port those heads and dust him next time!

Thanks. I am going w/ some race heads in a few months. I know a guy here that is an awesome porter, and he has a set of LT1 heads that he race ported. They are bad a$$.

And for my roommate's SS....he is about to go bigger cam, should be fun to see what happens within the next few months between our two cars.

I'll probably go 3.73s before too long, probably around the head time.

The CC305 is only a little bigger than a Hot cam, (CC305 = 220/230 and .544/.544 lift w/ 1.6 rockers). I like the cam it runs nice.
