Evos have around 300hp and are awd. They are fast off the line but from a roll you should take him

 

Not in a 94Z he won't especially if its stock, if it was an LS1 then it wouldn't be a problem.

 

Not sure of the performance difference but my car from a roll hangs with an Evo just fine. My 97 LT1 put down 276hp and 306ftlbs bone stock which isnt bad for a 9 year old car with 120,000 miles.

 

It really depends on which EVO it is, because you have the VIII, MR and RS If its the RS then it really won't stand a chance those suckers run a 13.0 in the 1/4 stock and pull pretty damn hard all the way to 130mph.

Owned a 94' auto Z28. Ran 13.9 bone stock.

 

I'm going to insert the obvious. Can the Evo owner drive? I've seen improperly driven Evos loose to some weak stuff. If he just completely botches the launch it should be a dead hang with a stock LT1, that is assuming the evo is stock.

 

there was a local evo running low 9s in the eighth, he launched it like a fwd car, why even race it?
