Another who will win thread.... sorry
My best friend is buying a 92 3000gt Vr4 AWD. It's a 6 spd and all stock with a newly rebuilt motor about 15k miles ago. My mods are in the sig. Who do you think will win? I know he'll definetly get me off of the start especially cause I had to get rid of my DR's and he has awd but my street tires hook very nicely and we are both just as good as each other driving.
It won't be a race after 80 mph. When I was trapping 104 in my '97 I pulled 3-4 cars on a lightly modded VR4. We ran from a dig and he had me by a car or so through about 40 mph. I started to reel him in pretty quickly and it just got ugly from there. However, you never know. Just race him and find out.
A 3000GT Vr4 weighs about 3700lbs. I know thats still a little more than a F body but they do run pretty good especially from a dead stop. You should be able to get him just drive it like you stole it and there wont be any problems.
If he doesn't know how to mod it, it's a 100mph car. If he does, it's much faster than people give it credit for.
My car is 4070 lbs with my 280-lb *** in it. It still has no speed shortcomings that I can find.

A decently-driven 92 will run 13.80s. The pre-94 models have 2psi less boost and the 5spd is slower on stock turbos than the 6spd. The stock turbos lose boost after 4500-5000 rpm and the 6spd makes that a shorter period of time. It's worth 2-3 tenths in the 1/4, though the 5spd's gearing is more fun on the highway (2nd goes to 80; 3rd goes to 120). The 6spd is of stronger construction but the 5spd's gearing is more suited to the giant turbo, go-for-broke crowd. After having owned both models, I'm keeping my 6spd
Update...
We haven't raced yet because it looks like he has been beating the living hell out of that poor car. He has been racing every chance he gets and in less then of week of owning the car he already has a slipping clutch. I just have a question . Last night I was board and I wanted to see what my car could launch at without spinning. I launch at 2500rpms without spinning a bit. I know he launches hard probably dropping the clutch @ around 5k-6k rpms from what he says. How much would he get me by out of the hole? Thanks
i ahd a thread up about this not too long ago....
i raced a 92 300GT TT V$ w/e like urs...i thought he would be pretty good, he had a full exhaust and his was a Manual....i wasted his *** and with me spinning hard on street tires...i swear around 6-7 car links on him....and pulling..
so yea you should take him a good 3-5 cars maybe more...
let us know

The car in your sig is hardly comparable to Bom2000's car. It's fair to say you have a few more mods than he does. The idea that a mostly-stock LT1 with Flowmasters is going to easily outrun a VR4 just doesn't make sense. They'll both have similar trap speeds and the AWD will easily take the launch if driven properly. If it isn't, he'll bog and it'll be an easy win for Bom2000.
Any 3kGT/Stealth with exhaust either wasted their money because they're too slow to need an exhaust yet or their car is far beyond stock and you should be wary. Unfortunately most of them are in the first category.
My car has a stock cat-back. Even after I get my new turbos and the corresponding 122-125 mph traps, it'll still have a stock cat-back. I love a sleeper, especially one so underrated as this one.

i ran dead even with a modded newer one when i was stock. it was also from a roll with him being a manual and me an A4. i have yet to see one grab 13s even with small mods. even if they are fast it's like driving a slushbox for a tranny and dragging a dead elephant behind you for handling. never heard of any LT1 having any problems with any of them that are stock or slightly modded. but hey, i bet every single one of them was a bad driver.
i'm not ******* on them and i like to give credit where credit is due. he should get u out of the hole but after that it's over, and from a roll u should take him also.
and similar trap speeds mean nothing
