im curious on other ppl's thoughts with racing a coworker's 5.0. he talks alot of **** on fbods and im gonna put him in his place. he's got pretty munch full boltons, 4.10s, cam, no head work. ive got a borla, LT headers w/ ory pipe, moroso cai, tb bypass, msd plug wires, ngk plugs, lt4 knock module, and its a 97 convertible w/ 275/40/18 tires. ( i need 2 get gears and converter).

 

o and i was curious if anyone had this setup to give me an idea of what id run the 1/4. im not gonna get to the track until june b/c of work

 

by looking at ur mods. u should be able to put him in ur place.

 

I think it will really depend on the launch. If he beats you to badly out of the hole, I dont think you'll catch up.

If he does have most boltons, he should be trapping several mph quicker than I do.

 

The problem with 5.0s is that you never know what you're going to get. Mine looks stock, but traps 125+ on radials. He could be lying through his teeth, beware.

 

Indeed, theres anything from 8 second ones running around to ragged out 15-16 second ones..w/ those cars ya just never know and theres a ton around. If thats his mods you should take him.

 

Id say it would be a close race. With his mods, i think he could be making as much or more power than you. If he gets the whole shot it will take you a while to catch him. But like others said, the old fox bodys can be made to go really fast. Lots of 9 and 10 sec. cars running around where i live. I personally am working on 2 foxbodys right now and have alot of respect for them. You never know what your going to get into.

 

what gears are in ur car? if u have 2.73's,its gonna be hard for u at first b/c of his 4.10's. but the torque of your 350 and the pull of the LT1 intake will help u out . good luck
