Hi im new to this fourm and have a ? I have a 1993 Z28 all stock and my friend has a 94 caddy STS with exhaust, intake, Z rated opp. He says he could beat me in a 1/4 race I'v road in it and it feel really powerful!! It barks 2 gear like a race car! But so dose mine. I'm worred about once we get going it seems like when he hits 100+ it will never stop pulling!! Should i be scared of him or will i blow his doors off Thanks for any replies

 

the sts runs a high 14 low 15 in the 1/4. Make your judgement on that.

 

mines a auto, and im not sure of the gear ratio:?

 

If you can shift into "1" on the gear seletor, then you have a 3.23 gear ratio, if you can't you have 2.73 gears

 

i guess i have 3.23 gear ratio cause i have 1st on the gear seletor. thanks

 

well heres what happend, we raced 0-100 i got the jump and put a car by 50mph but by 100mph his hood was at my door , 2nd race 60mph to 130mph , i got the jump again and put hafe a car on him by 90 but he started comming up and he past me by 110 and by 130 he had a car & 1/2 on me i beat him in a 1/4 race but it was really close!!!!

 

I assume this was on a regular street.....if it was, I hope you at least made sure you knew the road really well and there wasn't much traffic out there. Because 130 on the street is a little.....well......excessive.

I've raced to 90 on the street and that's even pretty scary.

No we didn't race on the street we raced on a old abandon air strip, nothing but pavement and lots of it! And dont worry i'm not the street racing type

 

Damn I wish we had something like that around here.......the closest real drag strip is like two hours away......an empty airstrip would be perfect.

 

Our closest strip, about 1 hour away, was made from an abandoned airstrip. Kinda funny.
