99 stang gt vs. 350z

So I have this friend who had a 99 gt and I would always give him sh*t for owning a ford- I was just having fun with him, I don't really have anything bad to say about em except for that I don't prefer them. Anyhow, we where riding down the main drag in our town last summer and this older guy, maybe 65-70 years of age, comes through ***** out in a 350z and passes us. It sounded pretty mean, maybe a aftermarket exhaust and some other bolt ons. We were four deep in the stang and the older guy was riding solo, but when he made a turn onto the on ramp to get on the highway my friends and I were like, follow this guy. so we hit the on ramp and this old guy just hit it hard and we gave chase. It was hilarious, he pulled on us so hard and had about 6-8 car lengths in no time. Grant it, we were four deep with the top down. We pursued until about 120mph (that speed with the top down is a little scary) and this guy was still pullin'. I was kind of surprised at how nice that 350z sounded and also how much of ***** that old guy was, when he let up and we caught up with him he didn't even look over. He kind of had that "I am better than you" arrogance about him. I wish we would of been in my other friends 98ss. We would of spanked the sh*t out of him with that, but none the less is was funny as hell to get stomped by this thing.

I also had a run in with a highly modded evo VIII in my poor little 3.4l. It was also hillarious. I spotted this guy in a gas station parking lot when I was pulling in to grab something to drink. He was walking out when I was pulling in and he was mean-muggin' and eyeballed my car pretty hard. I was also checking out his ride- it was sharp, it was pretty much all carbonfiber (front fenders, hood, hatch, etc.) As I left the store I didn't think much about it. So I pull out and am heading back towards the highway when I see this car with some bright as* projectors sitting on a side street facing towards the road I was on. I thought to myself, no that can't be. Sure enough, this idiot had pulled over and waited for me, didn't he notice that I do not have any z28/ss badges? Whatever, I passed the road he was sitting on and he whipped out and caught up to me in no time flat. We were on a two lane road with no oncoming traffic and he pulled up along side of me and was lurching foward, letting off, lurching forward, letting off. I was like, are you kidding me and just looked over and shook my head. Finally, he just gunned it and took off. It sounded pretty wicked and was out of sight as fast as he came up on my bumper. Come to find out, this guy lives near me and I see him and his buddies who have a black STI and WRX Wagon turbo hanging out at this guys house all the time. They are always over there working on their cars, I think they believe they are living a movie (fast and furious) lol. They have some nice cars, but they don't seem to friendly. This kill story was much of a kill, as I didn't even put up a fight, however it was the final draw on me deciding to do an LT1 swap. It's going to be great when it's done and I catch this guy off gaurd- thinking I still have a sixer sitting under the hood! HE..HE..HE..

If they are modded, you better mod that LT1 or else it will be bad news for you... Even a stock EVO/STI is a tough challenge for an LT1.

No joke, I've seen em' driving around town. They're fast! It would just be funny to see the look on his face- he would still think I've got a v6.

Could be the 350 guy didn't even know y'all were racing and he was just having a little fun with the car.
