99-04 Mustang GT vs 1994 Z/28

Well I was just cruising around minding my own business when I Mustang flew up beside me at the light, he barely stopped actually. He had the Anniversary emblems on the side and a GT emblem on the back. I also notice the intercooled duals coming out the back, so he wasnt exactly stock. At first I wasnt in the mood so I just drove normally, but after recieving a snotty look or 2, I was ready to make a point.

We stopped a few lights down and I saw him look over and grin. "Grin as much as you want now buddy", I thought, "cause you wont be in about 10 seconds." Sure enough the light went green and we were off, me easing into WOT, him going all out. Through first gear he lost ground, his bumper to my door, then my beloved 2nd hit and he immediately relocated a few feet behind my bumper. I let off 1/2 through second since he knew now he'd been beat. He came up beside and I gave him a small salute, he grinned with a silent 'fast ride' nod and drove away.

A nice clean run, I had 2 other people in the car adding about 400-450lbs of extra weight, so I figure I also had about 4 tenth handicap. His car had only the driver. Not sure of his mods, but at least the exhaust, Borla or Edelbrock looking. I couldnt tell if he was Auto or Manual. My mods in sig.

You may wanna get yourself a higher stall torque converter before you go get heads/cam. Higher stall torque converter will be my next mod for sure....thinking along the lines of an edge 3200 stall....then its on to fuel system (pump, injectors) then some suspension, then heads and cam for me. All the power in the world wont help ya if ya cant get it to the ground.

Oh, and I think you will mollywhop the cobras ***!!

good kill.
I don't know what intercooled duals are but I'm assuming you mean he had an aftermarket cat-back exhaust. Intercoolers are for the intake, not the exhaust.

The type of dual pipes that have a inner pipe then a outter chrome style pipe around it. I thought I saw them advertised as intercooled tips.

Like this, 3 pics down.

I know what an intercooler is. The fact that is was aftermarket was assumed.
