Which car would win in a race? They're both stock, but the Z28 is an A4, and the Mach 1 is a 5 speed Manual. Both very well maintained and both have street tires..
And by how much would one beat the other?

 

These cars are fairly even, given two skilled drivers. If the Z28 is not equipped with the 3.23 rear gear upgrade (RPO code GU5, identifiable by a selectable 1st gear on the console shifter, found on less than half of all 1998 Z28 automatics), that will be an issue. The LS1 is more powerful than the 4.6, but the Mach has a gearing advantage.

Basically, a race between these cars will come down to available traction (tires) and driver skill.

 

i would think an LS1 car should pull on a stock mach one....

i did a 10mph roll race with my stock 93 z28 against a Mach One that was stock. Both cars were manual cars. It was dead even...no one pulled...it was side by side...but not sure what MPH we let off at....

 

I always find it puzzling when someone posts a question, then 4 weeks later has not bothered to come back to see if they got an answer.

 

I find it more puzzling that people ask "who would win?". If you really want to know the answer race them.
