97 Z28

hey guys i have a 97 Z28 Anniversary Edition auto and i was wonderin if anyone else out there has any track times, dynos on this stock

i have heard from different guys that they will run consistent mid to high 13's stock and have around 300 horses and 325 torque one guys said he ran a 13.6 consistentley out of his auto 97 and another guy said he ran a 13.5 and 13.7 out of his

i know for a fact that i can beat LS1 with my car all day, i have proven it with my friends 99 Formula and my other friends 99 Z28(both having exhaust and intake) i also have beaten a Mach 1

there is no true dyno machine around where im at and its too cold to take my car to the track so i was wonderin if there are any other guys out there with some info on this car

If you are indeed stock, you will run high 13's to mid 14's depending on conditions, how you drive, etc. And no, you will not beat up on LS1's...your friends must not be able to drive worth a crap, or your car is really modified. Stock vs stock, an LS1 will walk all over an LT1 after they get to higher RPMs. Trust me on all this, 'cause I have the same car as you. 285 horse, 325 lb. ft., bone stock at the crank.

If you're consistenly beating LS1's, maybe your car has mods that you don't know about. A stock LT1 beating stock or even slightly modified LS1's? Let's just say it's unusual.

If you're looking for a Dynojet facility in Virginia:

Auto LT1's generally run low 14's...some 323 auto's hit 13's stock...so at best id say maybe a 13.8-13.9. You can dyno anwhere from 230-250ish w/ an auto car...If your are indeed stock Mach 1's and LS1's should make quick work of you...there both low 13 second cars in the manual form and higher to mid 13 second cars in auto form...Once you race a mach 1 and ls1 w/ a decent driver you will see how hard they both pull on you after 50-60 from a dig...and probably even worse from a roll. LS1's dyno on avreage about 50 more hp then LT1's and manual machs have hit the high 280's/low 290's stock.

Re: 97 Z28

hey u never know not every car has the same horse power sum cars r better than others. u put two of the same cars beside each other, one is faster than the other. even if i only have 285-290 horsepower, i still have 325 torque, the mach 1 dont have that much torque and ur take off is from torque and my engine is bigger and my gearing is better than a mach 1 so my top speed would be better, at like 75mph im doing 2000rpm and a mach 1 is doing around 2300rpm at 75mph. and my friends with ls1 do know how to drive good, ive even driven their cars against mine and he beat me in my car. i dont know whats a matter, i might just have a good car, bu there aint no reason to put another Lt1 down, and all the ls1 dynos ive seen, ive never seen one have a 50 horspower advantage and ive seen a good amount, alot of my friends have ls1. i know nothing has been modified in my car except and slp dual intake, so i might have an extra 10-15 hp from that but not a substantial amount.

Re: 97 Z28

I read these forums several times a day, every day, and usually keep my mouth closed, but that last statement was by far one of the funniest I have read on this website to this date. Trust me, I'm not trying to bust anyone's ***** here, but its hard not to...

Can we please just work on our spelling and grammar?

I recognize that I am a relatively new member in the scheme of things... Which is why I keep my mouth closed 95% of the time on these boards, as far as answering questions that require knowlege and experience.

Please refrain from the 2nd grade maturity level... This board is full of individuals who have obviously way more experience with F-bodies, and cars in general then you do. We have all done our homework on how LT1's stack up to LS1's, and on how Camaros in general stack up against other cars in the industry.

Are factory freaks possible? I think so. Is it likely that you are running around stomping the **** out of LS1's with your '97? Although you may have walked your friend with the Formula, it is very, very, very unlikely that you will walk all over LS1's and Mach1's and 'Vettes and Vipers and Ferraris with your basically bone stock LT1.

I drive an LT1. I have raced other LT1's. I consider my car to be one of the faster stock ones around (i haven't lost to another LT1 yet 6-0) But when you race an LS1 when the speed exceeds 50, you are screwed my friend... Trust me... unless the driver is sub-par, an LS1 will walk you each and every time. Same with Mach1's, and all of the aforementioned cars. (we're obviously still talking stockers here)

It's late and I'm rambling on...

Stop being an argumentative dick. You're new on this board, and if you expect to get help and make friends here, ranting on about how badass your stock car is will get you absolutely nowhere.

if i speeled anythin rong here, plese corect me

Pop off your intake and look up inside there. I bet you'll find a tornado vortex generator the old owner installed. Hence the reason you're spanking ls1's.
