So I got to race my buddy's Ls1 tonight. It's a 01 z28 auto , all he's got is exhaust and hypertech. He's running 8.4's (1/8th of course) at the local track. Anyway the first few runs were from lower speeds and it was clear that he just hooked up way better then me cause he just took off and i just spun. So he beat me about 3 times from lower speeds. Finally got to do some 40-45 runs and I beat him about 3 times and he beat me once (i didnt downshift to 2nd on the last run). Two of the 40-45 runs his car started bouncin off the rev limiter going into to third so i just let off on those. I raced my other buddy's 00 ws6 auto and i put about 4 car's on him when i just had bolt on's and his best run was a 8.8. So i'm thinking with some tires that hook atleast as good as his i should be able to run a 8.4. Can't wait to get 1.6 roller rockers and tune and see what i can run.

Nice kills man. When I had your exact mods(except AS&M headers and a dynotune, and 1.6rr's), i ran low 13's at 109mph.

 

Its always nice to beat an LS1. Especially when they are probably thinking ( but its just an LT1) Had a couple of those myself.
