I was cruising down one of the main streets of my city with a buddy of mine and we ended up beside a 00 GT Vert Mustang. I actually found out this guy works under my dad at the shop. Anyway we got to talking and as we did we slowed down a bit in traffic until there were no cars nearby. I heard him downshift so I dropped it down to 1st gear (around 4400 RPM). We both nailed it at the same time and I ended up having to shift right away but he didnt pull at all. It stayed dead even until i shifted into 3rd gear and I started pulling.

We did this multiple times and it always had the same outcome, nobody would pull an inch until I hit 3rd and I would start to pull pretty hard on him.

Does this sound the way it should be, it was my first race against a newer model Mustang and I though one 5 years newer would have pulled on me a bit? I must admit that I LOVED the way his car sounded though!

We also went from a stop and he pulled a bit at the beginning but i pulled past him in 3rd again!

 

Sounds about right. Good kill! Too bad we are so far away from each other or I could give you a better run than that.

 

Start doing a few mods and those stangs will go down alot easier.

 

in my old 95 z28 i ran a 01 gt 5 speed froma dig at a light. at the end of first gear i had him by 1/2 car then we had to stop around 50-55ish and i had over a car on him, and when we get to the next light i ask him what he has done to it and he says intake and exhuast( k&n adn flowmasters) then he proceeded to say "not bad for a mustang" then light turned green
