I hope the car runs what you want.

Let me know when you do and good luck.

Thanks for the nice words. I wasnt trying to get into an arguement with you about any of this. I was just trying to inform you on the car and what its pros and cons are. Cons= Terribly bad from a launch. Pros= Very potent from a roll. I will let you know what happens when I get these mods installed and get it to the track. Meanwhile. Would you like to see some pics of my car and the parts that will be going on it??

How does the Caliber handle?

I havent takin it on any road courses or hard turning roads yet but overall it handles pretty well. All of the magazine articles bitched about how bad the torque steer was. I'm not going to lie. It is there. But in the 4 months and 4k miles I have had the car. I have gotten completely used to it and it is no longer an issue for me. I can launch the car from a dead stop and keep it in a straight line, mostly because I am used to it and I know how the car is going to react. When the car was brand new, it felt like the wheel was gonna get snatched right from my hands. But like I said, I know how to counter-act it now. My wife drivers an 07 Caliber R/T AWD and the cornering and stopping features and night and day. Sometimes I forget I am not driving my SRT and I will take a turn too fast. The SRT for sure has a better suspension and better overall handling over the base Caliber and R/T models. Not to mention the acceleration is ***** to the ***** compared to the other models. With a few suspension mods, along with the power mof this car, it will be very road course worthy.

If you wanted to save gas why not just get one of these. From a distance no one would know the difference.

Couple of points to consider.

While the horsepower is up from the Neon based SRT4, the Caliber easily weighs 300-400 lbs more. Close to equal trade-off.

Neon used a Quaiffe limited slip to aid traction. The Caliber is one wheel drive and the "traction control" just rides the brake of the spinning tire.

What does a stock wheel/tire combo for the Caliber weigh? Stock Neon SRT4 is 44lbs. Rotating mass math time.

The Caliber also has a higher drag coefficient.

There have been many 100% STOCK Neon SRT4's that have gone under 13.9 @ 102.xxx. I see a match between the two as a driver's race with a slight edge going to the Neon. But maybe I'm biased

Good luck with the mods. Hopefully the Caliber responds as well as the Neon

oh my god, I am gonna buy the ugliest car ever, and come to a camaro forum and try to convince people using a thousand words a post, that my car is fast. cool dude, we could all really care less because it looks like a minivan and has front wheel drive. the only time I could get excited about that car is when its in reverse and gets mega traction

Just FYI, even though i dont care for almost any Dodge out there, he used to own a Camaro. He's been on this board a while and way before the Caliber was introduced.

To the OP: Until i see a timeslip, its all gonna be hear say to me. I know you are probably excited that you got a new car that its fast but i would wager that most of the ET's and HP increases are very over estimated. The kind of guys/girls who buy SRT's(Neons and Calibers) are usually fairly young and exaggerate alot. Ive never been attracted to most of Dodge's vehicles and i would much rather have a car that produces good time 0-100 or so. Anything above is reckless and asking for a hefty ticket. Kinda like the 500hp Supra's. They dont start pulling until it reaches 100 or so. I dont care for highway cars.

Actually your the idiot. Look at my post count. I've been on these forums for 5 years and probably know a HELL of alot more about the LT1 then you do. Never once did I bash on the Camaro. I was simply coming over to give you guys an example of how these new cars run against a light bolt on LT1 Camaro. I really dont care if you think its the ugliest car in the world. I'm sure your wife/ future wife is gonna be ugly, but does that concern me? No it doesnt. So if you dont have anything worth while to say. Then shut the hell up.

Trying to tell me that you demand respect because of your post count is very desperate. All it really reinforces is that you talk a lot and say nothing. It doesn't matter if you created cz28.com, having seniority and being knowledgeable are mutually exclusive.

I don't care if you know a lot more about the LT1 than me, I am not gonna lose sleep over it, but you knew enough to sell it for a Caliber haha.

Cool thanks! Fear will be filled in the eyes of all LT1 drivers when they see Caliber's driven by soccer moms all around town.

It is. Then again, I am being too nice to the Pontiac Aztec.

Maybe I should buy a Dodge Caliber and parade around looking for a better looking wife/future wife? The ladies like hot van look, or so I have been told.

I have plenty of worthwhile things to say, but you probably won't enjoy them.

First off, I didnt sell my Camaro to buy the Caliber, the Army doesnt pay big bucks so i sold it to put money in the back, I had 2 other brand new cars, not the caliber/s' and was never driving so it got sold. Also, Im married to a beautiful women (who drives a Caliber R/T) so I dont have to worry about girls "hating on my ride". She likes my SRT-4, and I've gotten muliple compliments from girls who like the car and want to ride in it. So really, I dont really care what you think of the Caliber. I've got 300 hp and get 32mpg, how you doin with yours? Also, this thread didnt even really concern you or your comments. I do believe the time I've had on these forums matters. I've helped alot of people, as well as gotten alot of help when I was a noob. Im sure thats more then you can say. Bring your P.O.S. to Fort Bragg and we'll go at it. I guarantee my SRT4 will stay with your car, and that was before I just did my mods. Bring it.
