94 bolt on z////04 sti
Just like any car, it's not just about the parts you hang on it. With dynos you obviously have the variance between them too; the absolute numbers aren't as important as the before-and-after comparisons. I asked about timeslips because they are more directly comparable.
360 whp is on the low end for a Green but certainly not unheard of. 400 is not the high end either, and I wouldn't be upset to find my car made "only" 390. The Green I have is a 56lb/min turbo, or over 700 cfm. There are still variables like the fuel supply (injector size), tune, and the owner's desire for a "safety zone" so they don't trash their car on a bad tank of gas.
You'll find I'm a car guy, period -- not confined to any brand or country of origin. If there's a discussion on a topic I have experience in, I'll be part of it. It may not always be what people like to hear but I try to keep it objective. I've wrenched and driven a wide variety of vehicles.
I think it's fair for me to question that an LT1 with intake / full exhaust / 50 shot = 150 horsepower over stock. Just because I do so doesn't make me some kind of hater, ricer, or idiot.

93v8clone - So what does your car run with that setup? What does dude's Subaru do at the track? Actually I'll be surprised to hear that he's ever run it because most Subaru owners tend to dyno but never actually race the car.
Drivers break cars moreso than power does. The Evo is too plain for me; I don't care how fast it is if the car is like something you rented at Enterprise.
Noob.

You're blowing away a Green-powered STi in a stock LT1 with only a 50 shot and headers?
A Green makes 400whp easily on 93 octane and more with meth injection or race gas. I know because it's what I'm in the middle of installing on the Subaru in my sig. If you're beating a 118-120 mph car you've got to have more done than you've listed.
FWIW, 20 is a horrible spot for an STi because of their 6spd. First is absurdly short -- you shift into 2nd before passing the timing lights. That means this guy bogged it in 2nd instead and watched you disappear while waiting for his turbo to spool. It's often easier to beat the driver than to beat the car.
My car's 5spd won't have any problem with spool from a 20 roll

With a real car it would. You sub 120mph built car is not going to be the end all to anything... Not to mention your talking about a car that doesnt even run, so wtf dude?

360awhp<350rwhp from a roll by ALOT. Most 50 shot, bolt-on lt1's run alot better then you think.
Also what kind of dope are you to think that a lt1 would need 150hp over stock to beat a AWD car from a roll that only makes 360-380rwhp? A 150hp over stock lt1 would flat out wax your mighty green modded jdm junk...... Fact!
That said why are there so many subaru owners on here? We dont care about your slow cars.....

Please explain. Where did he throw his car in your face? 120 mph 1/4 mile car is going to take down the vast majority of this board (myself included.)Alot of hating over someone just trying to inform.

That isn't entirely true either. An AWD car is going to have much greater drivetrain loss as the speed increases. Its great on the launch but hurts the rest of the run.
Mclovin, the reason I'm on this board is because I have owned 2 previous modded LT1's and have helped build my brothers supercharged L98 Z28. As John said we are all car guys who appreciate all vehicles. John was simply trying to come in and offer some insight into a vehicle that he is familiar with. Trust me, this guy knows a thing or two about turbo's and forced induction.

I've built cars faster than where this one will end up. If my family sedan traps 118-119 I'll be fine with it. I've raced enough people in the last 20 years to know I won't be the fastest but you can bet I won't be the slowest either.
I can't believe you're giving me grief because the car isn't on the road yet. Have you ever built a car? Do you do it all in one day? I have quite a bit going on right now and the car isn't top priority.
The 150hp value comes from the guesses that the OP's car will trap ~ 115 mph, or about 15 higher than stock. If you subtract the 50 shot and 5 mph, that's still 100hp/10 mph from exhaust and bolt-ons. That's higher than most LT1 owners have reported and that's why I asked about it.
You talk a lot of smack about my slow car having trouble with "real" cars. Just how fast is yours again?
That's because "back in the day" when I joined this was the only place where knowledgeable car discussions happened. Other sites were full of fanboys for a particular car and they didn't know anything about any other cars.

That's good stuff right there.
You think I wasnt taking that into account when I made that post??? We are talking about f-bodies and wrx's here.....

Read what you quoted. I said my car's 5spd won't have problems spooling from a 20 roll like the 6spd does. That means to create boost.

If both cars are equal stock and you add 150 hp to both, how is one going to automatically win?

Just about every FULL bolt on t-56 LT1 lays down over 300rwhp, I've even seen quite a few go 315rwhp+. Now the 50 shot, now factor in the wrx is shapped like a box... If you had any clue you wouldnt be posting the crap you are now.
My last build took 1 week, how many months has your current car taken? As far as how my car runs, just know that it does run. Once your junk is finished you still wont have enough. Your built car is nothing compaired to the built cars on here....
Now go play with the slow kids and stop calling bs on what you dont know. http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/
