'93 Formula vs. '06 Vette

I was heading back from the local Jegs store here in Columbus last Sunday when a white '06 Vette pulled up next to me. There was an older guy driving, and even though he was pacing me, he never looked over and I didn't really think much of it.

Just as I looked down to change the radio station, I hear him drop a couple gears and he's off. I dropped back to 4th at about 70mph and flipped the switch on him. He already had a car or so on me at that point. I was really unsure if I could make the jump up. By the top of 4th I was pulling even with him, and proceeded to put 1 - 1.5 cars on him by 135mph. When we got off of it, the guy passed me and gave me a little nod.

My signature below is not accurate. All my bolt ons are sitting in the garage waiting for me to go on vacation next week. The only things done are , UD pulley, gutted cat, coil and a 150 shot. Bottle pressure was around 950psi. (Damn warmer took a crap on me). I'd go out on a limb and say he had exhaust done to his Vette, because it was LOUD when he dropped it.

Overall I was pretty pleased with the outcome. It was the first '06 that I had got to run. I would have liked to got a fair punch with him though. I'm sure he was pretty dissapointed to see his new Vette go down to a dirty 'ole LT1.

Believe me, until you own one, you have no idea what is going through his mind. If he did go all out, he is probably proud of you: hence the nod.

Why exactly do you velieve that he should have destroyed me? An Lt1 motor with 150 shot makes about the same power, and more torque that a '06 Vette does. That 150 shot translates in over 200 ft.lbs gains in torque.

All I waws doing was telling the story of a race I got in, and you want to flame me instead. Have a nice day..

I bet the vette WAS going all out. With an all-old driver who just sucked.

Their fast, but I would think from a roll, an LT1 with a 150 shot would be giving it a good run.

I mean ****, they run what mid 12's? If I had a 150 shot on my car and didnt run at least 1 full second faster, I would throw the car off a cliff.
