Ok, so this dude my buddy works with says his stock irocz with a racing clutch will take my z28.... uhh and yea nothing has been touched in the engine... just clutch.... uhhh this guy has got to be kidding right? what do you think?? Its a 5 speed 88 Iroc

 

if its a stick then its not even a 350.They did not build 350 and manual combo in late 80s. It's a 305, so he has o chance. I had one of those 4 years ago.

 

I had an '84 Camaro with a 305 in it..my '04 Silverado is just as fast as the '84 was...whatcha think an LT1 will do to it..

 

there are some differences between a 84 305 and a 88 305 though. There is about 35-40 hp difference i think, but late 80s are better cars. 84 has carb and 88 has f.i. I hated my 84 trans am because there was something wrong with the carb, whenever I turn the car off, it would make some embarrassing noise and rattle its a** off.
I always wondered why GM made the mistake of producing 160 hp v8 z28s and trans ams. These cars made the f-bodys look heavy,bad on gas and slow while v6 imports produced the same power with much better handling and drivability.

Not quite! The 90-92 Speed Density cars are good for low-mid 14's stock.

As far as the IROC in question, just smoke him already.

I had a bone stock 89 MAF trans am gta auto that ran 14.0's

 

Nice! Most of the MAF cars around here are running mid to high 14's stock.

 

Even if it was a 350 he'd still smoke him.
