i actually ran a 13.4 at 102, and i just picked up a borla cat back yesterday and had that put on plus i may be trading my wheels for some 18's today depending on how they look vs mine.

Sounds like you got some pretty good traction. But still, if he's running a 13.5, he could get you if you don't have a good run. a 13.4 + a different exhaust manufacturer won't guarantee a victory. Traction issues, a slow shift or two and you still might get beat. Just don't talk too much smack until it's over anyway.

if your ls1 is running 13.4 at that track and he is running a tpi vette without headers, tune or a cai. You will not lose. You are not a vert right?

From the sounds of it, you don't actually know what mods his car has. I don't see anyone lying about their car running a 13.5. So either there was a misunderstanding between you too, or he's got more than you anticipate. If he's running a 13.5 then you're going to need that borla and those DR's to ensure you win. Because a 13.4 is your BEST run from the sounds of it. Which depending on the whether and your traction, could easily get a lot higher. If you've got the chance, get a closer look at his car as see if he's running DR's or has more than you think. And find out what kind of weather he ran his 13.5 in.

i say you smoke him. hes in HS i know of tons of people that lied in HS just to have a 13 second car. it was terrible. Now im not saying that vette cant get it with a few mods and a great launch but i just dont think he will. I had kids lying to me in HS about their car running 14 flat. it was hilarious. i ran him in my 85 z with just a stock rebuild 350 and a 600 4barrel. i worked him hard. My best run at the track was 14.2

highschoolers will definitely lie. ask him if he even know how LS1's run. he probably has no clue what an LSx even is

Not to put down the OP, but do you realize that he is only 18 himself and most likely either still in highschool or just graduated from highschool a few months ago.

ya i know that he said that. But what i am saying is we know what his LS1 is capable of. Not all HS kids lie. I am just saying it is more common. The TPI is really a choker and he is going to need launch to even compete with the LS1. But if the Vette is modded at all with the full exhaust and chip then i am saying its gonna come down to a pure drivers race.

Either way you look at it... if he has full bolt ons or not, you still have the faster car. LS1 is just far superior to that TPI. the weight between the two cars will not even be that much of a difference

if you guys will be at speed world the firday after thanksgiving, tell him that you know of a lt1 bird that'll run him, best run is a 13.6. I doubt he will run a 13.5, he'll probably be lucky to break 13's in all honesty if he doesn't have headers, unless it's amazing air and the track had some actual prep.
