A coworkers boyfriend has challenged me to a race. He claims he has 390hp and he has only raced at 1/8 mile tracks. Suposedly he runs a 1.6 60ft. and a 8.7 1/8 at 99mph. I honestly dont see how that is possable. My car is very consistent at a 2.1 2.2 60ft and 1/8 at 8.8 8.9 at 78.9 mph and my average 1/4 et is 14.00 at 99mph. I think he is blowin smoke at me but you guys tell me what you think. we are both autos.

 

If he is speakin truth he should take you out farely easy...please dont start another topic like the previous GTO one....after you raced then post it here...."should I" or "can I" posts seem to start arguments around here.

I think he is full of it, 8.7 @ 99. So in the 1/4 he runs what a 13.9 @ 130 with a 1.6 LMAO. Yea right that is either a typo or he is lying. 99 in the 1/8 with a 1.6 sixty is no where near 8.7, more like mid-low 7's in the 1/8. An 8.7 would be around mid to high 70s with a sixty that low.

 

The numbers just don't add up. Intentionally or accidentally, they just don't work out.

 

That Nova is probably putting out close to 390hp but that doesnt mean anything on those older cars. With that kind of power, if he has that much to begin with, hes probably gonna be running high 13s to low 14s. I would think you can take him. And who gives a damn if arguements are started, its called having differing opinions on what may or may not happen. Everyone can have one so who cares.
