was out coming home tonight when i saw a black early 90's mustang 5.0. we pulled up to a light and i wanted to see how bad he was going to kill me. keep in mind i only have a grand am 4 cyl. i punch it off the line and hold my own for about 20 feet then he got traction and i was about 30 car lenghts back. i cought up and threw the guy a thumbs up and he guns it agine. o well i just wanted to see how bad i would get smoked and it was about what i thought. can't wait to get my gto

My best friend had a 92 5.0 gt..we used to race every so often, i only have a little 3.4, and i would kill him off the line! i dont know what it was about that car, it was just slow off the line, my brothers blazer could even get a car length on it before it would start pulling ahead! I raced him in my moms durango to, which had him for a very long time, untill about 80, then he just walked away. anyways, 5.0's are crappy cars his was involved in a 15 mph REAR END accident, and the damn thing wouldnt start! he says its because of the emergency fuel shut off, and that fords are the best because they made that so they dont blow up when they are in a wreck

 

There is a fuel pump shutoff in the rear (easily reset) that shuts off fuel in a wreck which is a good thing. Was his car an auto by chance?

You would kill him off the line cause he drives like sh**! You have a 3.4 Camaro and you are calling 5.0s crappy? Oh yeah, this is the Durango guy. Remember the Durango he had that would kill 5.0s til 80 or so?

 

With the 2.40 first gear and a 2.73 rear end it does not get moving until 3000 rpm. With a gear swap auto 5.0's are much faster but stock they are way undergeared.

 

He probably gets him off the line because auto 5.0's suck off the line stock. I have one and I remember the pain of trying to get off the line with the crappy 2.73's out back. His description is about right.

I really dont know why you would think im lying steve, racing isnt all that big of a deal to me, I wouldnt make it up, all I know is this mustang is butt *** slow off the line, but after a while, that thing just kicks in and it will fly by! As for my 3.4 being crappy...ok yeah your cool! I would rather drive a 3.4 camaro compared to ANY bitch mustang ANY day asswipe, those things not only look horrible, but everyone and their mother has one, literally, and last the bitch car has 4.6 liters! What a muscle car!

What GM has ever been able to handle or make 800+rwhp without ever having to take the valve covers off?

How come the fastest all motor modular motor at only 5 liters of displacement is faster than the fastest all motor LS1?

How come Mustangs and even the V8 mustangs vastly outsold the f-bodies?

How come Ford is the only domestic company still selling affordable sports cars? Well besides the SRT-4.

How come the motor with only 4.6 liters, when stroked to 300-330 has run 6s through the quarter and not even LS1s at 420+ cubic inches can do that?

I'm sure you would really rather drive your 3.4 liter turd than a Saleen S351, '03 Cobra, or Rouch stage 3. You are so full of sh**! You are dissing my car when you drive a 3.4 Camaro? Im never going to be driving a car that has 800 rwhp anyway. as for the 03 cobra, yes it has 350+ hp, produced when the production of the f-body stoped..Im pretty sure GM would have steped up to the competition, who knows? Mustangs outsold f-bodies because they are trendy, thats itleast how it is here, most of the kids that own mustangs buy them because someone cool has one, ask them what size engine is in it, they either have no idea, or its a v10 How come ford is still the only one selling affordable sports cars? Im not sure, either people have bad taste, or love the hollow exhaust sound, you can be the judge of that one. as for 4.6's being stroked to 330 and running 6's..hooray for them, they still drive a bitch car.
