300c

Whats up with these 300c owners? Everytime I see one on the street & try to mess with them I have no luck. Obviously you like to go fast if you go out & spend the money on one. Oh well... Anybody else have better luck than me?

Re: 300c

I never really thought of the 300c as a "fast" car....it might be quick but I think the majority of the owners buy them to impersonate bentley's

The standard 300C is a pretty nice family car. Give me the keys to an SRT8 model and I won't give 'em back

Re: 300c

I was heading home from work one day and after glancing through my rear view mirror, I see this silver 300c coming up on me real fast. We pull up to the light with him in front of me. As the light turns green he hits it, as I do the same. I was right on his rear. As I hit 3rd I pulled him in really quick. I let off at about 90 mph. I would have loved to go from a dig but maybe next time. Those things are pretty quick.

The looks don't do it for me, but the SRT8 is fast. 2 days ago on the HWY I had my a$$ and intestines handed to me, yikes! Even with the weight the thing can haul.

Because I like to have fun "Mr. Iroc". I guess the guys that buy the SRT8's don't buy them to go fast either huh? Oh and one more thing- I drive a formula (stated clearly in my sig).

...dude all I'm saying is just because a guy buys a performance car doesn't mean he has to prove to the world how fast it is by racing every F car or stang or whatever....firebird...camaro...its all the same to me.

Re: 300c

Maybe it's my age, I don't know, but I love to see a fast car with older driver in it as it just eases off the line. No screaching burnouts, no bellowing exhaust.....just smooooooth.

I pulled up next to a black C5 Vette yesterday. His top was down, so was mine, and his wife was in the passenger seat with him. They must have been 70 years old. I yell "nice car" to them and the old gal gives me the thumbs up. About a block later, I see some moron in a lowered civic with the Folgers can on the back messing with him at a light. Light turns green, civic stands on it looking like a complete ***, and the old couple in the Vette just ease it off the line, not looking for a race. I think that's cool.

Again, maybe it's my age but there's something to having plenty of power to stomp the kid next to you, but not having to show it off. Not all the time mind you, but once and a while.

Sorry about the post, kind of off topic I know.....

GKs96Z28....dude I'm not "old"....and I agree with you...sure I like giving the pipes to dudes at stoplights everynow and then but I think if your car is really a bad a$$ you don't have anything to prove to anyone...I could crush a 300C in my old Iroc....but I'm still riding home in a loud a$$ rattle box camaro....the dude in the 300C is styling all the way home.....that car is more of a performance cruiser anyways...not a street racing/drag car.

Do you goad geriatrics in cadillacs to race too? lol Why try to get them to race? When it comes to a non-sports car like a mercedes, or a cadillac, if they're feeling rowdy I let them make the first move, otherwise you chance looking like a complete moron.

I wouldn't consider some Mercedes non sports cars at all.

I agree with this and Im pretty young still. Having my car about 2 years had changed alot of how I drive. When I first got it I was revving at everything with shiny exhaust pipes. Now I dont rev at all. I just drive normally most of the time. Now I get on it once in a while and I'll get in the mix at times. But for the most part I like being seens as a solemn F-body driver. Hell, acting like you have nothing to prove to anyone, alone, intimidates most people who might want to give you crap.

Example. Today I went to a Sunday meeting at work. This kid there has a riced out Eclipse that his daddy bought him. He gets in it shifts the manual into R and backs out of his space, rev, rev, REVV! and gets the turbo to blow off. Then he puts it in 1st, rev, rev, REVV! Turbo blows off again, REVVV!!!, again with the turbo, then drives off quick. I am standing outside with everyone else just talking. And nearly every person 10-12 is either shaking their heads or making a disapproving comment about his actions. Everyone knows my car and knows its a mean and nasty car, but I dont drive like that. And I get respect for being solemn when I leave the lot, I dont rev and speed around at all.

Dont get me wrong there is a time and place for having fun, but its not in your workplace's parking lot, its not some old guy with his family in a 57 Chevy at a stop light, its not darting around traffic nearly causing wrecks. I think the dedicated F-body owners should set and example for the rest of the performance community. Perhaps thats just me, but thats what I do.

Basically dont act like an ***.
