2 kills at track!

went to the track friday night and only got 2 runs in but i actually got to run some v-8s instead of lil imports or straight 10 sec. race cars! first race was against a 2000 firebird ls1. me and him were talking cuz his wife has the same car as mine and then it just so happened that we got lined up. only mod he had was k&n. light turns green i jump outta the hole on him and pull from him the entire track he said till the very end that it finally looked like i stopped pulling.
r/t .808 1.232

1/8 & mph 9.201 @79.16 10.037 @74.33
1/4 & mph 14.192 @98.69 15.251 @95.48
we talked afterwards and he siad that his clutch was slipping.

next race was against a late 70's trans am said " turbo 400" on the back lid if the trunk i believe. he had some huge rear tires looked like e.t. streets. i was like damn this guy is gonna stomp me. i slowly pulled him all the way down the track.
r/t .538 .584 almost identical r/t
60' 2.228 2.279
1/8 & mph 9.439@76.28 9.272@79.01
1/4 & mph 14.632@94.49 14.261@98.54
that was one of the closest races i have had at the track. with these times and my sig does that sound right? should i running better? they orlando speed world sucks, but there was another 95 lt1 camaro that was running 14 flat with slicks and catback flowmaster!

Your ET's are a bit high but in line with your sixty foot times. Get some drag radials and hook up better. That will help at the starting line as well. I like Speed World but it is a zoo some nights. BTW: There is a HUGE difference between a .53 and a .58 reaction time.

Yeah, about a half of a carlength. I wouldn't call that huge.

Nice kills Looking at your mph, the DA there must be horrible. What was it like? 100 degrees and 90% humidity?

well nuke you got that right about 90 degrees and 100% humid! yeah the track conditions there suck most of the year i wont knwo th ereal potential till winter times comes around. most lt1s run slower then me at that track. but thy are probably completley stock( not saying i am modded like crazy , but just the cai gave me 3 tenths a 3 mph) i have seen a a few lt1's run high 14's and trap low to mid 90's.

I haven't needed to raise the flag in a long time, but here goes

There had to be something else to it, like better weather conditions, better driving, etc. Cais usually add about 10 rwhp to an LT1, not even close to enough for 3 tenths and 3 mph.

Why did you keep your mouth shut? I'm not jealous. If I wanted a Camaro i'd buy one. Everybody knows that the cai adds about 10 rwhp to an LT1. There is no way that the before and after runs will average 3 mph higher with this mod alone. There has to be some other things going on. I can go on any forum I like, thank you uninformed newbie.

Re: 2 kills at track!

Maybe the filter he replaced was completely and utterly clogged...I've never heard of that kind of improvement from only a CAI without mitigating circumstances.
