You know what is impressive about the '05 GTs: gaining 20 rwhp from a tune and removal of that wierd intake screen.

113 mph is no slouch for that ET in any form.

Whoopie? , 4 tenths is 40 horsepower, exactly the differance between the two...thats a big differance...Tell you what put gears and dr's on a 05 and you better be planing something other then bolt ons to keep up with it w/ a 99-04 2v...05's have ran 13.3's bone stock so far and 13.1's w/ nothing more then a reflash...2v Gt isnt touching that w/ gears and dr's.

One of the first Mustangs I've heard that sounds like total crap.

Nice 1/4 mile time and traps though.

Anyone find out what the actual weight is. I'm really not impressed with stripped down cars because you lose so much of the nice daily driver aspect of the car, especially one as new as an '05 Mustang. Anyone can rip a bunch of weight out of a car. I wonder what he did.

From the looks/mods of this car I highly doubt these guys are worried about loosing daily driver aspects. Different people have different goals. I feel the same way as you about ripping apart a car just for better 1/4 times. I wouldnt assume anything yet about the weight of the car, a few stang guys have already ran low 12's w/ not a whole lot at all. ill hit the stang sites and see if I can find some more info. Remember this car still has factory manifolds .

Re: 1st 05 Gt in the 11's NA!

The owner of the car is Justin Burcham. Justin owns a small shop in Maryland - Justin's Performance Center. He was the NMRA Factory Stock champion in 2002, and one of his partners, Mike Washington, was the 2003 Champ (and 2004 runner-up). He knows how to make cars go fast.

His 05 weighs ~3400 lbs with him (he is probably 140 or so). The car is far from gutted - it has lightweight seats, a rear seat delete, Bogart wheels, and little else removed (spare, very little gas, etc). He makes a bit under 310 RWHP.

If you watched that video, you'll see that the car left hard, but it didn't leave real clean, and also wasted a lot of movement on the 1/2 shift. The 05s have a 3 link suspension which will take some learning for typical Mustangs guys that are used to the traditional 4 link setup. Once they get the chassis sorted out (and they will - they are racers), there is a tenth or two more ET (reference the 113+ MPH traps).

I agree totally about the sound, normally I think mustangs sound pretty good but that sounded gross.

Also those gears a definitely not streetable. Good run, but if you were going to destroy the street drivabilty of the car I would expect a faster time.

I was down at Cecil that night and saw it run...sounded like crap IMO, but ran strong.

A stock GT weighs 3487-3506lbs. So this guy removed around 250 lbs of weight. That's a lot in my book, but everone's different. A 3250 lb car is substantially different from a 3500 lb car. By the way, the guy only weighs 140 lbs? That's one scrawny dude!
