1999 Formula vs 2007 Shelby GT500 Cobra

I was sitting at a light when I saw a beautiful 2007 Shelby Cobra sitting next to me. He looks over and I know it's on. I bring up my revs a bit and wait for the light. Once green hit I was off with a perfect launch. He spun a little but then caught traction and the chase was on.

I get through first gear with at least a 2 car lead. My car shifts fast into second and I put at least another half a car. By the time I hit 100 I'm holding a solid 2.5 car lead. Around 120 I shut down with him still at least 2.5 car lengths back.

We decided to line it up one more time from a dig and the result was even worse for him. Again I shut down around 120 with at least a 3+ car length lead. He gave me a thumbs up and I flipped him the bird.

I'm just kidding. I gave him a thumbs up and we went our seperate ways.

Back to the pits! This is the track kill story section These races actually happened yesterday at New York International Raceway Park. The Shelby was there for MOM's racing (mustang on mustang) but he wanted to get some TnT runs inbetween rounds. The two slips looked like this:

ME----------------Cobra

R/T---.569--------.912
60'----1.589-------2.271
330---4.735-------6.013
1/8---7.404-------8.819
MPH--92.01-------88.20
1000--9.708------11.193
1/4---11.661-----13.143
MPH--115.20-----115.81

Second run

ME----------------Cobra

R/T---.552--------1.042
60'----1.591-------2.126
330---4.718-------5.581
1/8---7.366-------8.429
MPH--92.84-------86.93
1000--9.649------10.845
1/4---11.578-----12.856
MPH--116.77-----112.47

It was a lot of fun. I set a new best of 11.53 @ 116 on a 1.55 60'. I also had two losses. One was to a beautiful 69 Camaro that ran an 11.0 and the other was to a third generation Formula that ran an 11.3 after being tree'd and out sixtied by me. Awesome race.

What color was it? The Black one or the Orange with white stripes?.

I think I seen your car there too. I had a 2000 GT running low 13s. I spent most of the day behind the stands with a few buds.

Did you happen to notice the guy in the purple Mopar revving at every single other racer as he drove through the pits.

I remember it being gray. Kind of like this one:

Nice. My car is a white formula with WS6 hood and blue 30'th TA anniversary stripes. I was running 11.5's and 11.6's all day.
