What kind of times are the new goats runnng? A friend just bought his and wants a go at me without the spray. I run 12.70's not spraying.

 

What's your mph? The GTO could turn 12.7's, but only at 107-109 or so.

Been seeing alot of 12.8-9's @ 107-109 stock

 

i have a ques science were talkin about times.....im restoring a 1981 camaro z28 stock ecept the motor..i put a gm 383 (379?) hp crate moror in it with an edelbrock high rise performer intake and edelbrock carb. it has a super T 10 corvette trans in it 4 speed. i would just like a ruff estimate.

Maybe the pre-04's but the 05's should trap between 109-113 at least. 107 is a horrible trap for a 400 HP car.

 

107 is slow, but for the auto, I could see it maybe. 3800 + lbs and tons of torque management don't make for great traps.

Should be a close race then. I trap 108-110.

 

I'd give you the win down the 1320, but on a highway roll, it'd be very close with him inching on you just a little up top IMO, once the engine's broken in that is.

Most of the 04 Cars only hit 105 ...05's are trapping 107-109, for the weight of the car thats good...Most 05 Goats are dynoing in the 330ish area.

 

Makes me feel better about the 04. I've only got a few bolt ons and it's making 319 rwhp. Why pay an extra 10K for 11-20 more rwhp?

It weighs just a little more then a 03-04 cobra. And they have round 400HP..But they trap like 111-113 stock. The 05's shouldnt trap no less then 109 for any reason as far as im concerned.
An Automatic might dyno 330 but a manual shouldnt dyno no less then 340 Assuming a 15% drive train loss. It just dont sound right.
One reason it puzzles me is My LS1 TA is Loaded with every weight bearing option there is and I was trapping 108 stock. My car weighs somewhere around..maybe a few hundred pounds less then a Goat but if you added the additional weight I would have still trapped 105.
I dunno. Ill wait till the mid season and see what the loacls are running and trapping. One of my friends said one trapped 110 the other night.
Ill just have to see for myself.

 

GTO weight is 3,725 lbs. Also the car uses an IRS, which saps more power than a solid axle. These cars are performers, but can't be expected to match the F-Bodies, blow for blow (Of course comparing LS1 to LS1)
