04 GT vs 01 Z28

I'm usually the first person to say "Take it to the track" but I couldn't overlook this opportunity.

Last night my friend, his girlfriend, and I were driving back from 7 11 and his girlfriend was asking me to get on it a little, she really likes my car . I didn't get a chance to in the traffic. But I told her at the next light after the turn around I would. But as luck would have it, at the light I pulled up next to a brand spanking new Black 04 Mustang GT hardtop and immediatly he gave me a couple hard rev's. It was probably purchased within the last few days. It had a paper plate in the window and the dealership liscense plate holder with no plate in the rear. I wasn't going to race, but my passengers really wanted to. So I look around for cops, rev a couple times (I have an a4 so that requires shifting to n ) and noticed the light about to change, I quickly shift back to drive and don't have time to bring the revs up. The light turns green and we are off. I was a little ahead up till 2nd, that's when I walked away from him. I took it up to 55 since the limit is 45. Slowed down, waited for him to catch up and I waved, not meanly, just good race.

Uhoh now the mustang guys are going to come in here and say "he couldn't drive", "couldn't have been racing", "the 04 Gt runs very similar times and has run some faster times than a stock ls1". I don't think I need to name them but there is 3 of them

I don't know of anyone who is stupid enough to think that a 230 rwhp GT will beat a 315+ rwhp 01-02 LS-1.

Exactly! Not unless the LS1 driver really sucks.

Nah, but ya gotta love the LT1 owners who just not too long ago tried to claim S/C'd 4.6,351, and Viper kills with their little LT1 with headers

When was this?
hsyr, dont know what world your living in but you match up two manual cars(cause the Gts auto really blows) a 04 GT 5spd and say for argument sakes a much older 98 6spd LS1 the outcome would be ugly....

Good kill. about two weeks ago I killed a 04 with paper plates from the dealer. The guy I guess wanted to show off his new car car to his friend and ended up seeing my tail lights. A good feeling to beat a newer fast car.

Isn't it though? Especially when they are the ones trying to show off.
