04 Cobra VS 04 Acura NSX

Well one of my friends got a 04 Cobra last week. He raced his friends 01 SS that is basically stock and was dead even untill 120 i beleive. Anyways last night my other freind set up a race between him and an 04 NSX. So we all go out to the 2 lane highway. They get to the light. I'm behind the NSX and my other friend with a 03 GT is behind the Cobra. The light turns green before they could really get a chance to rev up there car and prepare for a launch. So they basically went from a 5mph roll. They both punched it and were even for a bit. Then the Cobra started to pull. They went to about 120mph or so and the cobra had about 3-4 cars on the NSX. It was a good race. I actually kept up with the NSX though all the way. He didn't really pull from me when i was behind him. Both cars were stock btw.

Yeah NSX is a pretty slow drag car. Yet I always see ricers pointing to it as if it were some sort of god.

Look at the HP/Liter! 3.2 liters that makes 290HP, and your 5.7L only makes 275 Bwahahaha.

I constantly point out that the car doesn't get max HP until 7200RPM, and has what 220lbs of torque?

I am not surprised that the 04 Cobra won, I am surprised you didn't pass the NSX.

Kinda makes em' feel silly for spending 89 thousand dollars.

Its a 14 year old design, I believe it is getting redesigned soon.

The new NSX's are high 12/low 13 second cars, they should be able to take any stock LS1 for the most part; and it's handling ability doesn't even need to be mentioned. Yes it is a bit overpriced, but the car is still incredible and I'm sure many would agree seeing and driving one in person. If they were priced more around $60K, they would never receive the ridiculous amount of criticism.

Is it really fair to compare a 90,000 dollar supercar to an lt1 camaro which you can purchase for about 7 grand now,why not just compare an nsx to a mcclaren f1.lol

Sounds like a fun race BTW; the NSX is a steaming pile of crap IMO.

close to 300 hp
why do some dyno as low as 230rwhp?

the nsx is a 13 sec car, it will not dip in the 12s.

"vtec in action"

vtec is common and boring.

A steaming pile of crap that Ferrari could have designed their F50 after.

I have also seen NSX in action. This guy on the highway was sitting in front of me driving the speed limit. I dropped it in 4th and then went to pass "the ole fly by " when he punches it. We went from 60 to 135 and we were door to door. I could hear his engine screaming so there was no doubt in my mind he giving it. Also heard him quick shift from I'm guessing 3rd to 4th. Traffic stopped us and we played it safe. I talked to him afterwards, he claims he's got a supercharger from Japan and this n that blah blah... $60K in mods. I'm like WTF is that all about?

If he's for real then yeah some people like to spend $89K+ for an NSX.

Horsepower TV just aired a show where they did bolt ons to a 94 Z28. Baseline dyno was 231 rwhp...so I don't know how underrated they are...that one wasn't at least. I had to laugh when they bolted on a throttle body and jet chip and only picked up 5 horsepower....what a waste of $$ They did get 22 hp from shorties and catback though...and like 9 from a u/d pulley. 8 for a cai.
