04 Cobra...sad but true

Well here's one for the books! First let me say that I don't normally street race in a busy area ...but this guy caught me in a bad mood. Anyway this white 04 Cobra with graphics and decals all over it kept giving me a hard time at our normal cruising spot...revving it up...spinning tires..every time he got next to me...and his g/f was pointing and laughing at me....@issed me off!!! So I started giving some back. We hit a red light side by side ( one way three lane road ) me in the middle lane and him to my left. Light turns green and both of us hit it at the same time. His nose was at my door as I went to shift into third ( yes we were flying ) he disapeared...I look in my rear veiw and all I see is dust and smoke. I circled the block and he was facing the wrong direction in the middle of the street and the car was destroyed. The whole rear end was shoved up to the rear seat area and both rear tires were pointing straight out...front was a mess to. I got out to see if they were ok...both were fine but really shook up so I called 911 and rescue checked them ...they were Ok!! So I found out what happend....when we were going at it, he somehow faded closer to the side curb and hit it with his rear tire....this sent him spinning into a brick buiding on the side of the street and then he ricocheted of it and then hit it again somehow in the front and spun off into the street....must have been a crazy ride. Luckily no one was hurt otherwise I wouldn't say this...I guess this definately qualifies as a kill!!

The best kills are when the g/f in the passenger seat is cocky & thinks you're gonna get your a$$ handed to you. This happened once when I pulled up next to a late 70's Z28 in my dad's 95' Chevy Z-71. I started budging forward & breaking to let him know I wanted to play. So his g/f looks over & starts laughing at me. Well I guess she was'nt laughing anymore when the light went green & I put about 2 car lengths on them.

Suicide or Kill its all the same, you beat him. Good one, glad everyone made it out ok. Its also good no one witnessed you doing it, or you'd be in some deep crap.

Another good example of why street racing is incredibly stupid.

Which most people can't.

I just can't stand people that insist on egging me on in inclement weather.

I feel your pain GD,
Ricers with 50 hp always mess with me in the rain. Just because they cant break the tires loose on wet pavement they think I cant either...lol

Awesome kill. Feels good put some cocky douche in his place. Although in this situation, I think he put himself in place.

Re: 04 Cobra...sad but true

Good kill. I know there are several that are against street racing but you just have to use some damn common sense. If you're on a tiny little street like that next to a curb, DON'T RACE. Especially if you aren't able to control the vehicle. To the original poster, you were the smart one by staying away from the curb, lol. I don't know about you guys but when I race on the street there is barely any traffic and if there is, it is pretty far ahead of me. I also make sure I know how my car handles before I ever race on the street. And last but not least, I watch the road and let my passenger look at my opponent to see how the race is going. I agree that street racing is not the best option but if you are careful and at least kinda plan your races you should be fine. If you see that ricer trying to race you with cars 30 feet in front of you, don't do it. Roll your window down and tell him/her to follow you to a safer location. Just my $0.02.

Re: 04 Cobra...sad but true

There's a lawsuit going on where I live where 2 kids were racing and one kid wrecked and got killed. So, the parents of the kid who got killed are trying to sue the other kid, saying that he is some how responsible because he was racing him. I hope that something similar doesn't happen to you where he tries to sue you for wrecking his car because you were racing him.
