02Z28 vs Z06

This nice black Z06 rolls up along side while cruising on the freeway at 65. He sees me checking out his car and he rolls down his window and motions to go. There are some cars up in front so I just wait. We finally get some clear lanes and he is nice enough to let me make the move, thinking he is going to blow by me. I take the move and pull out a length. My turbo spooled and kept him hanging back a bit. I short shifted third and he pulled to my rear tire. I kept him there until 110 when we shut down due to traffic. Can't wait to get a tune and up the boost.

I'm running just 3.5 psi and no tune on a budget DIY remote mount turbo.

Nice! Taking a Z06 is definitely worth bragging about IMO!

Wow nice! My grandfather is buying a Z06 and he says their crazy fast. "It will suck you back in the seat from 0 to 140 and never let up" Good kill.

Check out some of the times posted in this thread .

A few months ago, I was seriously considering trading in my Z28 for a Z06 ... I've decided against it since (for financial reasons) but they are absolute animals!!! I would still love to get one!

they are way faster than low 13's........that is regular ls1 territory. I would say that they are low 12's stock.

My Grandfather just picked his 04 Z06 up yesterday. Said stock it runs 12.5. He let take it out for a drive today and WOW. I never stopped smileing. Its the best handleing car ive ever driven by far and is a total beast. It made me feel like my car was a beater.

Re: 02Z28 vs Z06

im not expecting a win, i just want to hold my own. this will go down before i have the car dynoed or at the track so i dont have numbers to compare. up to date mods in sig. well, heads and cam being put in now. so in a week i should have my car back. ( it doesnt take that long for the work, i just work 80+ hours a week and have nop time to pick it up) but anyway im hoping it will be at least close.

In 2001 a buddy of mine got the first Z06 (385hp car) on the block and ran 12.4@116xxx
He is a good driver, but as you can see they will school most cars.

Yeah, 12.5 or faster, and some dipping into the 11's with a great driver.

Are we talking about the same car? You could miss a gear in a Z06 and still run a 13w/ease.
