01 ss goes down
i'm getting out of the blockbuster parking lot, when a black ss camaro goes behind me, flashing its headlights,calling my attention for sure. i stopped the car thinking one of my friends is behind me, only to find out the guy wanted to have a little race 
he goes like this:
him: hey you have a nice mach 1, what do you have on that baby,
Me: loudmouth,k&n air charger and bfg dr's
him: mine is a 2001 M6, with a K&N cai, HI Perf Cats, a borla catback and nittos at the back.
i was about to say goodbye, geez i don't even know the guy and he's asking me about my mods, and telling me his mods
when he asked me: do you think you can take ls1's down ???
i'm like wtf is wrong this guy, i'm thinking hell why not, i need to try out my cai and dr's .
Me: roll or stop???
he said let's go from a stop, light to light, so we drove until we got to the next stoplight.
the green comes and i had an excellent start. i put almost half car at the launch, and another half by the end of my 2nd gear, we shutdown at the next light.
he goes besides me again, and without telling him anything he says, my nittos didn't hook up for crap, let's go from a 30 mph roll this time
so we go again, 3 honks and we're rolling, i got the jump on this guy, a good half car on his almighty LS1, and i was at least half car ahead of him until we shutdown at the next light.
the guy told me he lost because of his baldies nitto tires.
he was cool though. i went straight home and he went left at that light.

yes it is good to have it peaceful. given its a dominate gm site (go figure) with many ford and foreign drivers chiming in from time to time. hell, im looking into getting a newer cobra so i can play both sides of the fence.
