00 LS1 takes down new Si and GT
For the longest time now, ever since I had first gotten my LS1, this kid with an 03 GT had been wanting to run me with some "tuner" thing. He has a black 03 GT with headers, OR X-Pipe, 1 chamber flows, pulleys, some CAI, and this "Tuner" program that he claims brings the car to a whole different level. So for the past 2 weekends I've been wanting to run him for money, just to get him to shut up about this bolt-on rocket of mustang 
So I call him up on saturday night and ask him if he still wants to do it, he says yea, call him back in an hour when hes heading into town. Time comes around, I give him a yell and he says that they're "tuning" it and that to call back in a half hour. So I oblige and call back in a half hour to get told to meet up at the local taco bell (this is the place where all the "cool people" hang out with their fast hondas and a few mustangs, no GMs or euros, etc.) We get there, and immediately some new civic hatch with a K-20 swap ? jumps on it and wants to run the ole' V8. Normally I would not have wasted my time, but he then comes out to say he ran one exactly to the description of mine and he stopped the pull and hung with it at triple digits
So I say lets do it. We ran 3 times, 2 from a 20mph roll and once from a dead stop. All 3 were pointless, and i felt I wasted my time. We get back to taco bell and I tell the owner of the GT its time to put up or shut up. He asks me if I have nitrous on my car and I reply no. He seems unsure and asks me to pop the trunk, and I wouldnt, just told him to get in his car and run the ***** out of it and hope its enough.
We end up down the road side-by-side, 20mph, 3 honks, and he asked for the kick. He kicked out to where his back bumper was at my front when I hit it. Going into 2nd I pulled almost even. Into 3rd it was about 1/2 car to almost a car, all the way up to 125 with 2 or 3 cars (?) kinda hard to tell at night. He wants a little more of the action but doesnt want to go on the honk anymore. We get lined up at a light finally and go from a 5mph roll. I give him the kick and it was a little ****tier this time for me. I had wheelspin a little through 1st where my nose was about at his front fender, go into 2nd and in a split second my car kicked 3 different ways.

Anyways, making this long story a little shorter, I had to pop my hood to collect my 20 bucks for the race and prove to him I wasnt on the spray. Then one of his buddies with an 03 or 04 V6 5 speed convertible on a 150 shot with exhaust and a "tuner" wants to race me for money. 
We head out to the same spot and I line up with the V6, 1st gear roll, he gave me the choice of MPH so I picked 40. I gave him the kick, and the rest is history. Something went very wrong because I left him standing still. He claims his bottle wasnt working and wanted to go again. I had no problem but he never wanted to pace me or line up with me or anything so I called it a night. This weekend I've got a re-match with the GT, V6, and a Mach-1 on the jug I beat about a month ago, so should be pretty interesting. We'll see if my buddy will let me borrow his 75-125 adjustable NOS kit and run these fools for some big dough

Those Mach 1's are pretty impressive. granted our engines are bigger they have more valves than us. hes the one id be most worried about. isnt the K-20 a japanese integra motor? I heard they have ***** but not worth the 10 grand plus shipping and installing (twice what i paid for my car with the goodies in the sig).

Nice run, If the kid with the GT thinks his "GT" is now on another level hes got another thing comming, if he gets rid of the "FLOWS" Im assuming flowmasters and goes with a better mufflers he may actually gain some horses instead of losing some with flows, and throws a nice gear and wider tire he may be suprised how it will run after that. The only thing he did worth anything is headers.
GTs are not "fast " cars by no means so when you build one to move you have to bank on gearing and suspention cause power isn't an option unless you go FI. A GT with minor mods but a nice drag suspention and high gearing can dip into the 12s NA with only 250-260rwhp.

That's like saying I beat a turbo LS1, but the turbo was in the trunk in a box.
