WTF!? 105-65 ruined my brakes????
Okay...well theres some nice country roads around here that i was driving on, which never have any cops on them (usually).. i was on some nice, nice straight aways..I get on it..and i hit about 110..there's a slight bend in the road that i'm approaching, so i start slowing down. I take my foot off the gas and as i'm slowing down to about 105 i see a white car with lights on top of it!
...i slam on the brakes, and slow down to about 70-65. I didnt put the pedal to the floor, because to be honest with you im too scared to hit the brakes that hard at those speeds..but i did hit them pretty hard. Luckily, either he didnt have his radar on..or picked me up after i slowed down cuz he didnt come and get me, but the problem is that on my way home, right after this happened my brakes started making a creeking/moaning kinda sound when i come to a stop. They felt more warped then they were before; (they were slightly warped before). I drove home, and let her sit for about an hour or so..i went to Burger King, and noticed that my brakes feel like there back to normal. This is really weird..Should i be concerned?? did i really screw them up from doin that??? I know i need to replace the front rotors anyways, but i dont have the $$ right now. So do you think that since they stopped doing it after the cooled off everything is okay?? Thanks for any help.
PS-Sorry about the punctuation/typing i have a brace on my left wrist/hand from a dirtbike crash, so i'm typing with one hand.

I would get some new rotors as soon as you get some money. You can drive with warped rotors, its not recommended though. When you do get new rotors, get some aftermarket ones...stock rotors suck.
PS Hope your wrist gets better soon, I know how that is.

I have an RM 250 right now, but its for sale...looking to get a CRF 450. I was just riding my buddies 450 again today and man do I love it. I also have some other little Honda toys, see the sig for a few pics.
Sweet dude...you got some nice looking bikes! I love the CRF450's..there so smooth, yet so fast. I currently ride a 2001 YZ250F..i love it, i have been thinking of getting an 04, but will prolly just wait it out and see what kinda changes they make for 05.
Thanks for the compliment. My next door neighbor has the exact same bike as you. He has a totally tricked out 01 YZ250F. I have ridden it a few times and I love how light and agile his bike is, makes me feel really confident in the turns, definately a nice bike. Anyways have fun and ride safe.
Probably just overheated your brakes. I've done some hard stops with the stockers from 120 - 0 and they smelled really bad after that. Good ventilated rotors will help get rid of that. My new brakes from 120 are perfect, can do multiple stops without any problems. They get noisy when heated, but that's the price you pay for performance.
