will be doing a full brake job on a 1995 TA....anything I need to know?

I just did one last year on my LS1 Firehawk and it was a piece of cake. I am just not experienced in the LT1 brake department, especially the rears with that screwy emergency brake setup. Anything I need to know or tools I need to do the job right? I will be replacing all four rotors as well as brake pads and bleeding the system out to pass some new brake fluid through.

I also think the rears are dragging a bit, because the rear rims build up dust a lot quicker than the fronts do, which is not normal. I am thinking something related to the emergency brakes may be sticking causing them to drag a bit....??

thanks,
Paul

the rear brakes on an ls1 car are just like the front brakes on any car, nothing special, no roatating piston nothing
if the drum ebrake was dragging you wouldnt get very much dust on the rim because it works just like a drum, it will hold its brake dust inside the rotor
if you are getting more dust in the rear than the front, check to see what kind of pads are on the front, if the old front pads are ceramic and the old rear pads are semi-metallic then it makes sense for the rears to dust more than the fronts

lol..I was referring to working on the LT1 brakes. I know the LS1's are a piece of cake. The LT1 uses a mechanical type system that utilizes the regular rear brake pads when using the e brake, this is what I am not at all familiar with and why I asked.

The LT1 rear disc brakes setup is very straight forward to work on. No need to mess with the emergency brakes to replace pads and rotors. You can spin the rear axles (with the tranny in neutral and emergency brake off) to see if you rear brakes are dragging before you do your brake job. If they are dragging, you can inspect the emergency brake cables to make sure they're not binding (run in the drive shaft tunnel out to the rear calipers). There is also an adjustment screw; Shoebox has a procedure here: http://shbox.com/1/adjparkingbrake.jpg
