What do you think of this street/drag shock setup?
Like the title states, I'd like a setup that will help the most with weight transfer while launching on the street or at the track. I do drive the car quite a bit on the street though in the summer so as much as possible I would like the car to be able to handle somewhat like stock if possible, I know I'm asking for alot.
At first I wanted to get HAL's all around, but after reading a few threads on them it seems they're not getting that great reviews from the people who are using them and also they are quite expensive. I do like the fact that they are adjustable on the car though. Competition engineering seems to make decent quality shocks and the price can't be beat, however the fact that they are not adjustable unless removed is a downer. It must not be fun driving around on front shocks set at 90/10 on bumpy roads...
So what I was thinking, is that I could get Comp engineering CE-2700 shocks for the rear and keep them set the same all the time (40/60), and buy some HAL stocker star R-series for the front so I can adjust them to have alot of rebound at the track (somthing like 90/10) and then have them on a stock type setting for the street. Does this sound like a good idea? I would also save alot of money since the Comp shocks are only like 40$ each. Also I was wondering what to do about the springs? Will the stock springs do or should I get a set of drag springs for the front?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah sorry about that here's the rest of the suspension setup:
Chassis engineering subframes (welded)
BMR Trak Pak with DS loop
Lakewood LCA's
BMR LCA relo brackets (welded)
Edelbrock adjustable PHB

Mostly I was concerned about the shock adjustments... the fronts won't be a problem but obviously I'd like to get the rear shocks adjusted right prior to installing them. I read that 50/50 would be the softest setting? But that doesn't make sense to me since 40/60 or even 30/70, the shock would be working less on the initial compression and more on the rebound?? Wouldn't that aid in 'squatting' and weight transfer over the rear wheels? Maybe I'm just not understanding it properly?
Also should I order the front springs while I'm at it?
Thanks.

they way CE describes it is poor....they actually describe the shocks different on the box as they do on the website...i installed them last night....30/70 is the firmest and 50/50 is the softest in terms of compression, i stroked the shocks in every setting to verify....i have mine set on 30/70 currently but haven't hard launched it yet to tell you if its better...heard these cars squat pretty well as it is and have had people tell me the CE's squat too much at 50/50....if i get any hard launches in i'll let you know....as an fyi cornering wasn't hurt(i don't hard corner often anyway) with the shock install, but i also put in the TA and PHB at the same time so they are probably helping

Ok I just ordered the shock package from Speed-Engineering (they were having a sale with killer prices). nicks2ndZ let me know which setting worked best for you, I should be putting these on next week.
sorry have been on the road with work and will be for next couple of weeks....i'll be home doing a street tire shootout with some friends on the 23rd so i'll let you know how it goes on the 30/70 setting....not sure if im gonna go through the hassle of bringing jack and tools to change settings or not
Ok cool thanks alot!
Mine are going in tomorrow, I think I'm going to go with 50/50 at first just because that seems to be a what most ppl use for drag racing (from what I've read) I'll keep you posted and tell youhow that works out.
