What is the best sway bar combo for cornering for a 4th gen F-body?

What would be the best sized front and rear sway bar for high speed cornering for my 95 Z28?

I thought I asked Sam Strano this years ago, but can't find the old thread.

CALL911:
They have to be matched to the springs. Also changes such as heim jointed trailing arms and panhard rods will change the front to rear balance. I think Strano is still in business ... send him an email.

It seems he hasn't visited this website since last year.

I did visit his website thought and sent him an email. I think his sway bars are the ones he reccomended, I just couldn't remember what size.

Sam Strano is the man- if you are cheap, er, efficient like me, look for the bars off a WS6 or a B4C in the salvage yard. The front bar should be 35MM, and the older rear bars were 21MM, at some point they made the rears only 19MM- Maybe not racetrack ready, but definitely stiffened my Camaro up.

Re: What is the best sway bar combo for cornering for a 4th gen F-body?

I've already got 1LE sway bars on the front and rear now. I'm looking at what would be the best possible combo available.

My 1LE's are decent, but I know they are not the very best.

Looking at stranos website, it looks like they offer their sway bars as "hollow" to save on weight. My car is plenty powerful, so 5 less pounds is not that big of a deal to me, so I don't know if the solid ones are the ones I should look at vs the hollow ones.

Been in touch with stranoparts. For anyone else referring to this thread for research, it looks like the best combo is stranos hollow 32mm front, and hollow 22mm rear sway bars. They sell them as a set.

I don't recall if it was an upgrade on the set or part of the set but he makes an adjustable rear bar.

They make an adjustable one as an option available. But the best combo for cornering like I asked, was the combo I posted.

I've had the BMR 32 solid, Strano 35 hollow and ST 35 solid on front. I like the Strano best. On the rear, a 3rd gen 23/24 is good. I liked the ST 25 solid too with my softish (Hotchkiss) springs but it might be too much with stiff springs or stock tire sizes.

Our popular combination is 35/22. It's a good medium-stiff bar set which balances nicely with most reasonable spring rates.

I too, am interested in making my '95 handle better. I am considering shocks, springs and sway bars, and Strano seems to be a good one-stop shop. Does UMI offer a similar packaged deal? Any other good options?

Strano is a great one stop shop. He carries our full line including our sways. His sways are hollow which saves weight but at a slightly higher price. The balance is very similar. We can also get his springs and shocks if you'd like to one stop shop at UMI...

Re: What is the best sway bar combo for cornering for a 4th gen F-body?

Sorry to ressurect this one, but because I have put this off this long things have changed, and it seems that the original front sway bar Strano said would be best is no longer offered (hollow 32mm).

It seems that I can get a 35mm front sway bar and still the 22mm rear.

My question is, what is the difference between the 32mm and the 35mm? Is the 35mm better than the 32mm for high speed cornering?

The 35 will offer more torshional resistance over the 32.

I am running Hellwig 35/22(adjustable). With great results on my car. And im sure my car is lighter then your is.

I personally would recommend the 35/22(adjustable) from strano. It is near identical to mine.

Well, I don't need adjustable. I am not looking to dial it in perfect, and the price on the adjustable is significant.

The only thing I am not sure of is if I should go hollow or not. Not sure really what the weight savings from the UMI solids are vs. the Strano hollow ones.
