TTop - Coupe or Convertible

I understand that there are differences in chassis bracing and overall weight between the coupes and convertibles but where does the ttop play into this?

Often when ordering parts, a choice must be selected, coupe or convertible. I'm not sure what to choose. I think I'm referring to things like SFC and maybe driveshaft loops.

I've read weight specs for the convertible and coupe and have seen figures as low as 75 lbs and as much as 250 pounds of difference. Mostly I see about +150 pounds on the convertible. Is this primarily chassis weight or does the convertible mechanism add most of it?

Does the ttop simply have the convertible's chassis bracing - is it the same as the coupe or does it have its own specific chassis construction?

If anyone can show or point to a clear photo of the convertible chassis I might be able to see some differences or similarities to my ttops.

Thanks

Coupe and t-top cars are the same.

So I have learned. I guess the center bar is under the sheet metal on a coupe and the only difference other than the t-tops themselves is a welded flange that supports the connectors for the weather stripping.
Thanks for your reply.

Yup. If you take off the headliner on a coupe, you'll see the center bar. That's why it is fairly easy to do the t-top conversion yourself.
